❗ Djokovic is simply *incredible!* Not only did he totally match Alcaraz in the quality of play, but *he* was the one who outlasted him *physically* - at almost twice his age! And this is not luck! It shows Novak's amazing professionalism, diet, training methods and everything. Or maybe the only reason is the new little microchip stuck to his chest. 😉
@Luckyluckyluc
@Luckyluckyluc 11 ай бұрын
"Outclassed him physically"... Without the cramp Alcaraz' could've run like he always does for more hours. He just had a lack of minerals in his system causing the cramp to persist... It's pretty weird when you pretend like Djokovic had anything to do with it, especially when it happened early in the 3rd set; Alcaraz has had much more demanding matches in the past and showed no signs of exhaustion...

It's why I get so fed up of watching Sabalenka play. It's relentless grunting and yelling, on every single shot, and often immediately after winning or losing a point. I get this thing about it being a release when they're putting in so much intensity, but surely some of it is designed to intimidate opponents.

Watched the whole match live on Eurosports: both were amazing, Alcaraz seems to have had a bit more edge before having his cramps. But that is exactly the greatness of Novak too. Although he was playing an excellent game, it seems that the pressure and everything overtook Alcaraz's body whereas Novak was staying still. Call it experience or whatever, Novak is still a better player, just from what I saw today. But I have no doubt Alcaraz has the potential to overtake all tennis records out there. He is just phenomenal, just as McEnroe said, he has never seen such a complete player at the age of 20. Not even the big three was as good as Alcaraz is right now at that age. He just has the whole package at the highest level. Just need a bit more experience I think. Besides Novak, I see no one challenging Alcaraz frankly.

Well I don't know what it is with the French crowd this year, but I think it's been frankly disgusting. I've never known so much booing for players at a GS. We've had Kostyuk, Svitolina, Kasatkina, Rune, and now Djokovic. I was really puzzled by the boos for Djokovic today. It's not his fault that Alcaraz cramped up and lost. I'm not his biggest fan, I'll admit that, but no way he deserved that. I don't get what their problem is. Won't be surprised if Swiatek gets it tomorrow against Muchova. Maybe they've got the hump because so many of their players got dumped out of the tournament early.
@frederikteisen
@frederikteisen 11 ай бұрын
Yes, the booing is disrespectful, but It’s good. Because it will make it even sweeter when Novak (hopefully) lifts the trophy on Sunday. Djokovic is like Batman in the Dark Knight. He is an incredible athlete and human, doing so much good, but still people don’t appreciate him. The stupid Mob don’t appreciate such a highly intelligent, incredible player & human, who is gonna be the ultimate GOAT eventually.

thirst for victory... tennis...what a wonderful sport practiced by so many people but in the atp and wta circuits you rarely see anyone tell the truth about what they really think about their stronger opponent who just beat them...they congratulate each other but really hate each other , a world of pretenders, there is a lot of money at stake and many commercial interests, as they were not in the 70s, 80s and 90s. if I were in Djokovic's place, I would have surrendered the service game immediately after Alcaraz was forced by the rules to do so in order to receive medical care... it would have been a simple and normal gesture of fair play which would have equalized the chances of the two combatants, I am convinced that Nole did not even think of such a thing, being desperate to break all the records, this gesture would have brought him enormous sympathy around the world. I think the only one who would have thought like me would have been Nick, that's why I love him... he's a real man

Plenty of players leave the court after winning/losing a set, and also take breaks. You don't win 22 GS titles by 'cheating'. Face it. Alcaraz cramped up and that's TS.

What was the bs that he did now?

@@HauntedOne18 he did nothing, just idiots booing him, the man called a medical timeout since his wrist was bothering him in the 2nd set, the set that he played excellent up until that MTO where he was to lose his serve just after it. But as soon as he called MTO the crowd started to do the booing out of nowhere and for no reason. >>> In the 3rd set, however, when Carlos started to cramp and have issues, nobody let a sound, let alone boo him, even the crickets stopped chirping, while flies stopped buzzing. Since Carlos asked for MTO while he was supposed to serve and not in between games, the rule was to give Novak a game, so while he received the MTO per his request and let Novak win his serve, as soon as Novak started to go to the line preparing for his serve game, guess what? The crowd started to boo yet again, go figure...🤔🤔🤔 Talking about double standards right? But all this is expected from "cultural Europeans and Westerners" since this man is representing South East Europe and a small country of Serbia + being the GOAT just isn't sitting with the Westerners/Rich conglomerates at all. Shattering the two-man G.O.A.T. race between Rafa and Fed for over a decade now, how dares he?!?!
