I think I might need to delve into the stories of these tunnels! Great video 👍

I lived there for over 30 yrs. My father had shop on market place which had a tunnel running over to Roger Bucks old shop. I knew a guy called Peter Appleton. He researched so much about this wonderful town and church. He could be a fountain of great knowledge regarding these tunnels

This was brilliant. You should definitely come back and film again if more history is revealed. It would not surprise me if there were tunnels under towns like North Walsham as things like this would have been important and useful in the past.

l found this fascinating. l have come across many stories of supposed tunnels but l have found it hard to research as occupiers of the buildings deny their existence or are very quiet. l was allowed access to one cellar which had at least 2 bricked up arched recess, which the bricks were not tied into anything also there was a square door in one wall facing next door, it was old and but rusty and had hazard tape round the edge if the metal frame that was old too. When l asked the lady what it was she became defensive and said oh thats mine, she just worked in this shop but l decided to leave. since then l have seen exploring vids with a similar door & those have been for emergency escapes in bunkers. Theres a world beneath our feet that we are only recently becoming aware of, but some people are well aware of them, and they are very reluctant to admit this let alone talk about them. l think we will find that a great many towns and cities have tunnels.

Would be interesting to see cellar locations ghousted over a street plan. Norwich folk speak of Norwich tunnels too.

Went to school here - never knew this. Mapping them out would be interesting, but a lot of properties have non-connected cellars. I've heard of tunnels as escape routes from 'invasion'. English Civil war @17c might have encouraged them.

Another very fascinating video Chris. You both revealed so many interesting facts about North Walsham, and as a regular visitor, I'll be more aware of what's around me. BTW... post lockdown hair is looking much better 👍

Have a look at the old boots the chemist, my mum was a manager there for 25 years,, she’s been retired for 20 years, there is a tunnel that goes across the square to the church

dont interview people with crossed arms ...as it makes you look defensive of the person you are interviewing and doubtful
