You should rather say that Djouna Mumbafu is a living legend of Soukous Music, a modern generation blend between historical classic soukous and modern styles. He has been a prominent star of the top Congolese Soukous band of all times, Empire Bakuba, and another band Delta Force, before his solo career. He has given good music to Africa and the world for decades since 1980, despite still being young today, because he started as a young teenager. To me saying Djouna Mumbafu is the last Soukous man is like saying Soukous is old and dying out. Soukous is still very much alive, and many people are playing it and Ndombolo music classic styles of Congo, including Diblo Dibala, and many others including young artists. And mind you, Djouna Mumbafu also plays and sings Ndombolo and Kwasa Kwasa. They are all related to Soukous.
