Stems really shine when using them to mix or layering. They can replace the EQ in some cases and make cleaner blends. Really a huge game changer when you can swap out the drums instead of just the low end, for example.

do you prefer this mixing technique for certain genres? or rather in what cases would you prefer using EQ mixing vs stems? I was playing with stems for a while but switched back over to exclusively doing EQ mixing, and curious when others might decide to use stems vs EQ mixing if supposedly stems are supposed to ‘sound a lot better’
@bboymac84Ай бұрын
@@ak5275-v2m if your mixing vocals with a new genre then yes use stems but If your gonna play with frequencies you might as well use a low pass or high pass filter.

I use Serato everyday and I have to say that VDJ is the best for their stems separation. Djay is second, Serato is 3rd and wackordbox is 4th.

I think PDot knows VDJ blows them all out of the water that’s why he didn’t include it. Vdj Stems 2.0 has been with us for well over a year if not 2. I have a whole ecosystem of remixes while the other dj softwares all want a burger while they play ketchup 🤫
