I remember sitting alone fresh out of hospital at the end of my senior year of high school. They would let me graduate despite missing most of the year. I felt so lost. All structure in my life was gone, but I still had my friends, dog and family. I kept playing this song despite hating it during its radio play the year prior. I am now more alone than ever. My parents and dog are gone and my brother lives on the opposite side of the country. This song fills me with nostalgia, a painful sorrow that feels right.
