The Boeing 737 MAX production rates will remain capped following a presidential change and adjustments to the FAA in the United States, which is a blow to Boeing.

The only thing that will save Boeing is a massive turnover in the executive suite. The senior players simply have to live and breathe quality and engineering. The MBA's and CA's have to sit back and do the accounting, knowing that if they don't sell planes the public will rely on, there will be no profits to maximize. Put simply, if a decision has to made between safety/reliability and cutting costs, the only choice is safety/reliability.

@@nickolliver3021 It has said it will do so sinde 2019 (the 737 MAX crashes) and has been getting its act TOGETHER. Yes yes! The issue is that it is moving at such a slow speed that 6 years later, we are still awaiting for Boeing to complete that and fully get its act together. We are not there yet.

One way is to shift pay increases to management to the workers on the floor. Upper management control financial and marketing, but if the product is not meeting regulations you have nothing to offer. Many companies appear to not look after the most important section of the business, the blue collar workers. There needs to be a shift within manufacturing businesses that it’s the workers that also need to be rewarded and benefit from increase sales and company profits.

Would it be better if Boeing has to understand on what they needed to fix on is themselves? Even though maybe it’s ok for them if they wanted to keep the production of the 737-Max for airlines that wanted to have a all 737-Fleet like Ryanair, Southwest or others. Would it be better if they’re going to start over to replace the 737MAX with better plane for a better start? Maybe bring back the production for the Boeing 757 or start the New Midsize Plane (NMA) in the future.

I think right now Boeing may try to get the 737-7 and 737-10 certified by late fall in 2025. Reason: a potential 348 plane order for the 737-7 from Southwest and several hundred 737-10's on order from multiple airlines.

Personally, I think the union would benefit down the road from being part of the solution rather than the problem. If they step up and get the production rate up with quality production, they'd have more leverage. Odd how unions think screwing their employer will help them get better wages. Do a great job, show the results and then if you want to strike or whatever, you have a greater position.

Can we please stop with news on the 737 Max??? It was for the most part deigned and constructed in the late 60´s. "Upgraded" through the years based on accidents not to enhance it. Placing a huge engine on it was as you know a really bad idea. I have worked with the 737 NG for many years and it would take way too long to explain it´s issues and problems. Please I beg you stop saying big news about the 737 Max, only news I want to hear it is being scrapped and we are finally building something new, better and smarter. Stop milking this!!!

Don't care much about Boeing any more. After the catastrophes in Indonesia and Ethiopia, if they cared at all they would have tightened up their procedures immediately. They didn’t. Reports that Embraer, a well-run outfit, is looking at developing a MAX rival must be good news if true. An Airbus near monopoly wouldn’t be good.

Or may be they are trying to save it, as if Boeing was allowed to go as they did, it was matter of few years before we had a very critical accident, and Boeing will be over for good. Now, the FAA is twisting their hand and forcing them to take a path that may actually bring back the company where it was 30-40 years ago.

No - Boeing can’t demonstrate to the external auditors that they are following their own quality rules and the FAA rules. Boeing have been saying “promise, we’re being good boys and doing everything properly” for years while, in fact they have been doing the opposite. Now, they have to *show* that they’re doing things properly as the FAA no longer believes their “pinkie promises”.
