@@Milanfan-g3w They did not view themselves as personal enemies. They respected each other and it shows by the end of the movie. You need to see it, but not the theatrical version but the uncut version which is another beast in itself. I dont believe in the differences that people tell me to believe, when i see a muslim or a buddhist or a christian or an atheist I see a person, whcih struggles the same as I do to go by. @paladin De Lupi Yet when the city of Beziers was taken, Papal legate and Cistercian abbot Arnaud Amalric who was military commander of the Crusade uttered this phrase...when told that there were Catholics, Jews, and Muslins in the city. "Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius." It translates to, "Kill them all; let God sort them out." Christians have as much, if not more innocent blood on their hands, and as I recall their preferred method of dealing with people who refused to convert was burning them at the stake.
@rickbruner55254 жыл бұрын
@paladin De Lupi Book of 1 Samuel, when God instructs King Saul to attack the Amalekites: "And utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them," God says through the prophet Samuel. "But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey." Deuteronomy 20:16-18 Only in the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave alive anything that breathes. But you shall utterly destroy them, the Hittite and the Amorite, the Canaanite and the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite, as the LORD your God has commanded you, in order that they may not teach you to do according to all their detestable things which they have done for their gods, so that you would sin against the LORD your God The 1st Crusade was from 1096 - 1099. 800 years prior to that was 200AD, which was 400 years before Islam was founded. Your facts are a dodgy as your theology.
@rickbruner55254 жыл бұрын
@paladin De Lupi You are full of shit...the passage in the Koran that you are referencing is not really any different that the Bible's command in Samuel... Quran 8:12 which says, “When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.” I Samuel 15:3 “Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.” If your contention is that the Quran is violent, you have to accept the same about the Christian Bible. If you are saying that followers of Islam kill in the name of their religion, you have to accept that there are still Christians who do the same.

What I like about this is that it shows what the Templars were actually about. Yes, there were possibly as many evil and thuggish Templars as there were good and honorable ones, and yes, the Templars were used as shock troops against Muslim armies during the Crusades, but their primary purpose in the Holy Land was not to kill Muslim civilians or even fight Islamic armies (though they certainly did end up doing plenty of the latter, and a few of the more dishonorable ones voluntarily did the former) - it was to protect Christian pilgrims in the Holy Land. Whenever Muslims were willing to leave those pilgrims alone, it was not uncommon for the Templars to do the same for them (even when other Crusaders may not have).

Most of the crusader army was made up of levied troops. The Teutonic and knights Templar orders there were some that are honorable and respectful otherwise they wouldn't have earned their position along side there's just too many propaganda going on in history and stories that people make up to glorify their side. I must say not all men in war were good nor bad but rather did things and lose themselves during war and battling.

Nice movie...but many historical faults. To show Saladin as a Gentleman is truely a.bad joke. Unlike in this movie or in the movie "Kingdom of heaven" Saladin wasn't the gentle and truthfull Saint... The reason why Saladin doesn't storm Jerusalem has nothing to do with Mercy or Goodwill. If the Muslim army would have taken Jerusalem by force then Saladin must have let his Army 3 days blunder, murder, rape and pillage. It would have culminate in the same Massacre like by the christian Siege and Storm and that was exactly what Saladin intendet to do. His Generals and especially his Brother stopped him for doing so. Unlike in the Film, Saladin doesn't let them go in Peace. Every Citizen had to pay a ransom and everyone how wasn't able to pay, Saladin sold them into Slavery. His Brother was a real decent Man, Saladin gave him 1000 Slaves and he released them all for free. Every christian Church, except the Church of the holy sepulchre was modified as a Mosque, every christian Writings images and sculptures where destroyed etc. etc. You don't learn real history in cinemas, you have to read different sources..Saladin the noble Son of the Desert😂😂 what a stupid Hollywood fairy tale...once upon a time, the noble Saladin and his sister little Red riding hood meet Simba the lion king😂😂😂
