I really love this video thank you. I've always been into trains, and have always been fascinated by the purely mechanical appearance/aesthetic of these extremely industrial places.

The URR spots loads for the scrap man and the rubber tired loader pulls the emptys out. The same process is used for flux. The URR will spot loaded covered hoppers by the unloader and the RTL will move the empties out as needed.

Taconite pellets today contain the majority of flux/limestone agent needed for the blast furnace. Vary rarely will use see flux stone brought up to the trestle. The covered hoppers at ET contain Metallurgical High Calcium pebble and pulverized lime that is used at the BOP.

It is interesting to bring up the subject of the iron industry which was prevalent, where I live in northeast Maryland, during colonial times and well into the 19th century. The process was charcoal based and was not as efficient or as productive as the coke-based process that is used in the behemoths that you are accustomed to seeing. In fact, it was these collossuses that spelled the doom of the type of iron works on my area.
