Layla's damage is almost bullsh*t if you can land your basic attacks at max distance, you can delete any squishy heroes in under 5 basic attacks, she can also melt the hp of tanky heroes if you have malefic roar

I seldom use malefic on layla though. If enemy is tanky, crit+demon hunter can deal a lot of damage as long as she shoots at long range. I would use hunter strike on her because of the additional movement speed passive that can help her reposition, chase, or escape.
