"Friends reunited" - The original owner is reunited with his Ferrari 275 GTB/4 by DK Engineering

Almost 50 years ago, an Englishman named Deryk Haithwaite purchased a brand-new Ferrari 275 GTB/4 at the age of just 26. Recently, he was reunited with the rare right-hand-drive beauty after 37 years by DK Engineering following their recent purchase and sale of the car.

Yes he wasn't going to let Deryk have them! Instead of grabbing them back so abruptly the least Mr DK Engineering could have done was offer him photocopies.

Gosh that would have meant so much to the original owner to see, feel and drive his Ferrari after all those years apart. Such cars are so much more than just machines made of metal, glass, rubber and fluids. They have a soul, which comes from the journey of its custodianship over time. Lovely to see.

Ha! Ha! What we have here is THE master stoke of a sensible “time & money” bandit! He (1) enjoyed both his and the car’s best years, pumping almost 60% of her original miles in 11 of her over 50 years, selling her for 4X her sticker price, shrewdly citing that by 78’ at £75,000 she could no longer be really “driven” anymore, AND got the lucky break to get reacquainted when her bloated appreciation got into the millions!
