I think this is the best tutorial video for ITF/GTF patterns because you break down each individual moves which makes it clearer and easier to follow when doing the full pattern.. please makes more of this style of the tutorial.

Could you explain the low block near the beginning (move 6) and the position of the upper body/face, please? It says "maintain walking stance" but it looks like sitting stance.
@Lowen_Grim3 жыл бұрын
Just saw your question. Did you get an answer? He's essentially moving out of high block briefly (what you're seeing as sitting stance) and back into walking stance to execute the low block

@@Lowen_Grim Thanks (I didn't get an answer). That makes sense. So it's just really to emphasize the move into walking/low block?
Regarding movements 6 and 25 (high block): I watched here on KZbin a seminar held by Gen. Choi himself, in which the black belt performing Ge Baek raised the heel before blocking, without any correction from Choi. But here in this video I see that the rear leg heel is fixed on the ground. So, which way is the right one?

Are you wtf or itf. Good attention to detail btw
@theyhateyuri78325 жыл бұрын
If you practice itf the movements are more extragerated so the heel would be better but more stuctural and without the heel lift wluld be the correct way. Even then it depends on which school you train at. They may tell something completely different so its best to ask your instructor

@@theyhateyuri7832 Yeah, a lot of "ITF-style" clubs train in the pre-sine wave style, using the waist twist and the heel rarely comes off the ground. In some ways the sine wave puts less stress on knees etc in some moves.

Your L-stance back leg needs a little fixing. The knee must be directly over the foot. The knee must be bending in a natural position to avoid injury.
