With or without TAS, I always thought that in MK3 the abilty to run made Shao Kahn easier to defeat. In UMK3, starting combos with jumping punch made Motaro easier and Kahn even easier. Goro and Kintaro were just piece of cake. It's like having a Street Fighter Alpha character fight M. Bison from SF2.
