Yeah chipset manufacturers drivers and controller Commands. Quantel must be proprietary amended systems. Yes monopolies laws had not penetrated back into those earlier years. Legacy. Nvidia I seemed to remember doing great till driver support was corrupted in terms of standardisation. Games and compositions parting ways. TV. Live versus Edited. Arrested Development in terms of Standardisation. Well highlighted. Cheers for the entertainment. Augmented reality of course nowadays with VR and decent latency responses to phase lock loop are the dog's bollocks! The mind reader or programmer. Mwhahaha. Licienced intellectual properties. They file off serial numbers or cover them with heatsink and fans. Then tech support and drivers go walkabout. Then liciencing initiatives are updated sending price fluctuations between blue chip companies. Shares. In that delay time everyone figures they may as well start from the ground up with proprietary overhaul. Desynchronus from other manufacturing chains. Static servers. Nice rack equipment. It's like yacht racing. You would not expect the result of another boat hitting rocks to be penetrating the hull of your own vessel. No, they hit the rocks so they have the damage. Assistance is pressuposed but liabilities still stand. Insurance companies, repairs and parts and labour.

So i hear, it would be awesome to get one running. But solving the issue of the Dylan disk array is a challenge.

@@DextersTechLab I once swapped a Seagate drive in a Dylan array and went to lunch whilst it was rebuilt. when i returned the whole machine room was filled with smoke. seems the drive had several of the bypass caps installed backward and they all exploded a few minutes after I leave for an hour... I was not very popular upon my return...

Yep that's why I subscribed 😊 loved quantel gear ever since I saw David Hockney at the BBC doing the series "painting with light". Which can be found in youtube.

Oh thank you, though they probably use a different interface that i don't think would be compatible with HAL. It's probably fiber. I do want to help get your machines running BTW, it's hard to get time away from my crappy day job, hopefully we can do something for you in the future.

It’s awesome to see talented people pursue things they are passionate about. And whether or not I find that interesting… That’s my problem. I’ve always adored your videos, especially lab/lasers/optics stuff… (which you’ve done a lot of....l and some of which I’ve watched dozens of times).... If A lot of subscribers / viewers complain about the difference in content… Then they shouldn’t be here in the first place And good riddance! 😁 I think folks should spend their time with the stuff they enjoy most and are passionate about. That’s how it should be, And damn life’s too short to waste time if you have the opportunity to play with things you love! Honestly I’d probably really enjoy the newer stuff I’ve been doing… But I’m strictly a hardware guy. If it gets more complicated than component level board repairs… It just ties my brain in knots 😂 I might not be here for every Quantel video… But I always wish you luck and happy tinkering!!!

Quantel? Presumably concerned with standard units and measurements. Yes last I heard shoe manufactures advertisers and distributors don't know what 12" is. You know a foot. Hopefully Artificial Intelligence can quantify the differential. 🤣
