I definitely died more in DS2 than in any other souls game (excluding Bloodborne because I'm the only person who hasn't played it yet) due to the abhorrent amount of cheap bullshit in this game like ambushes and poison terrain.

2 was definitely the cheapest out of all of the Souls, because they were quite literally and intentionally making it super cheap. Bloodborne is pretty cheap, too, because of the new mechanics introduced but it's still doable. That being said, they didn't know what they wanted with DS3. They put the Souls aesthetic with Bloodborne mechanics. It didn't take.
