Modeling and Lighting Trees in Cinema 4d // The Practice 129

We're continuing with 3d forests and trees in Cinema 4d this week. I spent a lot of time thinking about the lighting, atmosphere and color range for this illustration. I used mostly cylinder and landscape primitives to create the trees and forest itself. Then we added canopies with sub surface scattering, and lit the environment with a physical sky object. Then we adjusted colors in photoshop for a final digital illustration.
This timelapse is about 2 hours of work sped up to about 24 minutes. Lower the speed to .25 in the video settings to watch at closer to normal speed.
