Totally agree and not so good he is forgotten about. He was outstanding in the Who and even when he was solo. Never forgotten 😏

I love Roger Daltrey. I was fortunate (some almost 40 years ago) as a waiter at The ST. Regis Hotel in Detroit, to have served Roger Daltrey and the band after their concert at the old Pontiac Silverdome, (located just outside Detroit) (the, then home of the Detroit Lions). This was my second night on the job and at the end of the night, our Mater"d approached me and another waiter and asked if we would like to stick around to serve the "WHO". I was thinking that he was kidding, but he was not. Are you kidding OF course! We were the last two waiters on duty. Some two hours later (very late), there they were in the Bar! I served Roger Daltrey a scotch and soda and he was very polite! He is very tall and muscular. They looked over menus and I had the chance to speak with him and he treated me as though he knew me for years. Very friendly. Then, suddenly, someone (I assume a manager) came in and announced that they would be taking their meal in private in their room's. We could only deliver the carts of food just outside the door and not allowed to enter. The next day, I had a room service call to deliver and it was Judy Carne, (former wife of Burt Reynolds) whom was staring at the very nearby Old Fisher Theater that week. I rolled the food cart into the room not knowing who the customer was. She was very nice sitting on her bed in jeans (opened to the crotch)! She said to me: where the hell have you been all week! Not sure what that meant but I bragged about it for years! Then that night Ms Carne, had dinner in the main dinning room (I was not the server) and she jumped up and ran down the entry hall to greet Roger Daltrey! I listened to their polite exchange in which they said that they hope to get together when Roger returned to London. Who could forget this experience? I never saw either again and I was only at the hotel as a waiter for a few months as I attended school and my regular waiter position at a local Country Club was open again after the winter months. I am a fan and admirer especially for the songs from the album Quadrophenia. Well this was a very long time ago and I swear on my children that it is all true! Just shearing a fond memory ~ My name is also Roger, but who cares ~ and also thank you Lynn Dorton! Oh, and I do know better now ~ as the song goes

I found this in the 1 dollar record bin at the local half-price. It has become one of my favorite albums. This song in particular is excellent. It's funny: whenever I play the album, my wife always asks "Hey, I like this, who did this" and somehow she doesn't connect it to either Daltrey or The Who. I just has such a melodic and mature sound. It reminds me a bit of some Cat Stevens, but so, so much better.
