This is the Lady Spikers that can intimidate their opponents with their height and blockings. And what is good with this batch aside from their defense, they have also an intimidating offense. Everyone is contributing, the Middles are very effective in the net defense and with those high percentage attacks of Gagate and the Outside Hitters are doing well with manning the floor defense with their Libero and also the variations of Canino’s attacks. Even their Setter is also contributing in the scoring department. And of course, their Opposite is as always reliable. Kudos also to their coaching staff esp Coach Noel and Coach Ramil.

Wow what a game for DLSU! Everything clicked after the first set from Reception, Digs, Serves, Attacks and most especially from Blocks. Indeed the TAFT tower is back! If they continue building up on this momentum, a step ladder final 4 is once again in the horizon. What a great preparation for their highly anticipated match with the defending champs. If NU does not summon their championship form last year, DLSU could sweep the first round and even the second round as well. Congrats DLSU! It was a complete team effort. Special mention to their middle blockers who had a field day blocking ADU's spikers today. Alba and Jolina and Jazareno were steady and Soreno made sure that Cruz does not need to return to the game with her performance. And ofcourse, DLSU diamond of a find in Angel Canino, proving once again that she is the real deal. She was what DLSU was waiting for and now that she's arrived, DLSU can now go toe to toe with NU. For ADU, they lost one of their best weapon this season and that is their service reception. Romero had a hard time setting up plays due to inconsistent reception which only made their play predictable. Highlighted in this game was also the lack of their MB's firepower. They need to have a good set up to allow their MB to have a chance in scoring but did not have that today unfortunately. Tubu was good but she was a marked lady already and coupled with poor set up plays, her attacks became predictable as well. Santiago I felt like lacking intensity in this game. Not sure if she was intimidated by the blockers but surely, this is not her usual game. ADU did not expect heavy services from DLSU which made it really hard for them to set up their MB's leaving their wing spikers majority of the burden in scoring. All in all, ADU went up against an inspired DLSU team that was clicking on all corners after the first set. Hence, nothing to be sad about but rather be an inspiration to do better in the second round once they face each other again. Congrats to both teams and hoping no more injury for all players both men and women for this season please 🙏🙏🙏 Our prayers go to Cabatac of FEU for a speedy recovery❤❤❤

On the other hand, Adamson Lady Falcons must work together with deceptiveness, consistency and varieties of attacks. Tricia Tubu and Kate Santiago can be a formidable lefty combo with Turing and Cruz as middles. Louie Romero must vary her sets and Tubu must also take the down the line angles for varieties. Momentum and composure will be key factors for Lady Falcons winning matches. Congratulations to both squad!

Both Cruz and Soreño are doing well in net defense, pero lamang talaga si Soreño sa atake at floor defense plus hindi nagrarattle. Need lang talaga maging consistent ni Soreño para ma maintain nya 1st six spot. Overall masaya kami sa pinakita nyo this match, konting polishing nlang girls 💪 I hope u maintain this attitude, the aggressiveness.
