True. The aggressiveness and fighting spirit are there again. However, I would argue that in terms of technical skills, this roster is the strongest since S78. All-rounder kung all-rounder. They now go for powerful spikes instead of just placement shots. I'm so proud of this team's growth. 💚

Coach Ramil's system is really adaptive. A lot of people predicted that it might take years for the other UAAP Teams to beat the NU system, but here we have La Salle sweeping them as early as this year. Pagod na pagod si Belen sa kakabuhat ng team, and I guess that's how you solve the NU chess. UST provided the template on beating NU 101, and DLSU took notes and mastered it. This season is really interesting.

It was actually Adamson who exposed the weaknesses of NU when they had that 5-set match. Then UST capitalized on those weaknesses to win in 5 sets. And now, La Salle also took note of those weaknesses and used their strengths which is blockings, service, and floor defense.

Observations: 1st: Grabe improvement ng NU compared sa first game nila VS DLSU. Na penetrate nila yung blocking ng Lady Spikers so hindi gaanong ka effective yun ngayon. 2nd: Dahil hindi naging ka effective yung blocking this game, mas na appreciate ko si Jazareño. Grabe. I remember nung rookie days nila napapasuntok ako sa hangin pero ngayon. Just, wow. Flashes of Dawn Macandili. Puto lang yung mga diin na palo ng kalaban. Yung bola, madalas talagang naitataas nya. DLSU has made another great and reliable libero in her. Excited to see more. 3rd: Bella Belen Vs Angel Canino. This game, lumabas yung totoong laro ni Belen. While si Canino, as oppose sa first game, medyo na check na sya ng NU. Kung magkaharap sa playoffs, I hope Malaluan will be available for more reinforcement and Solomon for NU din for more improvement para maganda yung laban. 4th: DLSU's middles conquered NU's. Hindi man sa blocking pero this time, sa scoring. Walang panlaban kila Gagate and Sharma. 5th: The composure. Dito mo makikita kung sino yung mas focus sa laro. Nakakatuwa makita yung maturity ng Lady Spikers this season and especially this game. One man down, NU gaining momentum, mga palo bumabalik lang din sa kanila, pero still, DLSU's composure prevailed. Dela Cruz and Alba surely are reliable seniors. Final Take: Playoffs will be fun. Complacency will be DLSU's issue here if there will be one. Esp since other teams have improved a lot. We don't want a repeat of sweeping the 1st and 2nd round only to be beaten in the Playoffs. Hope Leila Cruz is okay. Animo La Salle! ❤️

May take on this: Experience is a good teacher. Alba has finally matured and in a way - peaking (after losing hard for so many matches in the past). Lamina, on the other hand, is in a new territory where their team's supremacy was challenged. LaSalle gave them a hard time to get their groove because of heavy serves resulting to unsteady first ball then the blocking system already in place (plus matatangkad pa mga lady spikers). Kaya hesitant na si Lamina sa mga playmaking nya. Nag kaka error mga spikers nya dahil hirap sila gumawa ng "in-game" adjustment. Yung nakasanayan nila during the practice hindi na mag apply dahil ready na mga lady spikers nun. No wonder the NU coach has to field in Jardio and Alinsug para ma rattle ang La Salle. Pero knowing La Salle, they always follow a system. Basically, yung plan A ng NU basang basa na. They go to plan B but it was also beaten by the Lasalle system. It took 1 season for the LaSalle system to finally beat the NU system. Very adaptive yung system ni Coach Ramil and Co.

I have to agree that CRDJ’s system is very adaptive. Very evident also during Coach Tai, took two seasons for CRDJ to crack Tai’s code. What impresses me most even he (CRDJ) is not visible during the round 1, the coaching staff and the girls performed really well. It really pays that you have to stick to your system. Other schools nag palit palit na ng coaches, paiba iba ng sistema.

In season 84, Many fans thought that NU girls are unbeatable but season 85 with Dlsu-Lady spikers and UST tigresses prove that with hardwork, everything is possible. This game is still a testament for La Salle. Alam kong babawi ang NU at mas madadaliin nila yung mga sets para makalusot sa blockers pero ang nagstep-up naman ng todo sa La Salle ay ang floor defense. Yung last season kasi hnd pa sila familiar sa isat isa due to pandemic bwan lng practice nila .. eh ang NU since highschool pa mgkakasama kaya nkatsamba sa lasalle lastyear lalo pa at hnd na gnamit ni cobb lastplaying year nya malamang hnd nkatikim ng championship yang NU na binibida nila haha.. ngayon intact na ang lasalle at grabi training kita na ang resulta sila nman ang hindi mkaisang set sa lasalle 😅😅 .

There is no denying that N.U. put up a valiant effort, but Lasalle's fighting spirit is unsurpassed. Lasalle forced N.U. to make an error, so don't use it as a reason.But overall it was a good match I appreciate how reliable and dangerous Sharma and Gagate are in the middle. Jazareno, like Canino, is always excellent, and of course, our two veterans, Dela Cruz and Alba, really disprove the critics. They all put in an effort and contributed, and to my crushiee Leila Cruz hope you're fine🙏😚

Error happens due to adjustment or out of system plays. Also, NU went for high risk high reward service, if mabigat ang service, machachallenge ang reception ng LS. Unfortunately, the risk did not go NU’s way. So, credit those errors to the formidable LS squad.

Service Errors are never forced :) That’s an easy giveaway. That’s what killed NU in 1st & 2nd sets. If service errors were lessened I don’t think DLSU have won the 1st & 2nd sets. Their attack and block points were lower. They were steadily waiting for NU to commit service errors :)

@@naymjdjdjd4946 poor observation and analysis. obvious naman na hindi maka receive ng tama ang NU dahil sa loaded serve ng LS kaya walang magandang set si Lamina. Yan din ang naging problema nila sa round 1. Nagkaka error sila because of the strong serve ng LS. Kaya rin walang ganap mga middle at quick attacks kasi hindi talaga maganda ang receive ng NU. Also, target nila sa service si Solomon and Belen para talaga mapagod at hindi makapag attack ng maayos. Isang factor din ang blocking ng LS sa panalo nila. Therefore, kailangan paghandaan ng NU ang serve ng LS at pansin ko rin madali mawala sa laro si Solomon lalo na kapag sunod² syang na ba-block.

Despite na nawala si Cruz which was very effective against NU during previous games dahil sa blockings and unfamiliar attacks ngayon DLSU remain as a team and indeed a collective unit kasi they have receives despite na medyo iwas sa blockings yung attacks or medyo hindi effective. Ang effective so far sa game na ito yung consistency, composure, mental toughness ng DLSU kahit na kulang sa attacks bawing bawi sa teamwork.

I believe CRDJ system is about team work. . . Defense from net to floor. From the championships he made it is so evident that the net and floor defense is there. The intimidation of the players who guards the net that’s why the opposing team is having a lot of errors while lasalle has just dropping the balls and not pushing too hard. It is about what he say every time… walang utak ang bola.. nasa players yun. The difference in season 85 is they are drilling the ball too hard that’s why the opposing teams are having a hard time to catch up. Besides the net defense the floor defense is superb. Now the season 85 has that baon spike. Look at Fifi sharma & Thea Gagate when the play is on the momentum you could really hear the ball hit the ground. The system is evolving. The new breeds are scarier. The fact that they didn’t even rattle when they lost Leila cruz who guards the net so hard for Belen and the other open instead on the third set they gave NU 9 deficit to reach 25. Just a few insights sa game na to, DLSU shows consistency pa rin and pati errors nalilimit na nila. They proved kung ano ba talaga at sino talaga ang Lady Spikers. While NU nag improved yung game nila compared sa last round meetup nila but it wasn’t enough to beat the Lady Spikers, Bella was the only one na super eager manalo eh si alinsug kasi nakakapag contribute siya ng points kaso binabawi rin niya sa errors ulit. Kahit si solomon ang bilis panghinaan ng loob kaya nag lead sa errors and inconsistency. Yun lang napansin ko☺️

NU mostly committed errors because of their weak reception and yung pagkaka-injured ni Cruz which is isa rin sa mga consistent defenders ng La Salle ang maaaring nakapagpalakas ng opensa ng NU. Imagine if Leila Cruz was there, baka yung ibang mga Palo ni Belen at Alinsug ay na-block rin (we never know). People have to accept the fact na dominating talaga Ang La salle this season so far, stats never lie. Hindi yan makaka- 8-0 kung mahina yan. Anyway, hayaan na natin sila masyado lang silang bitter dahil natalo ng La Salle yung team nila ng magkasunod na laro. Kudos pa'rin sa NU, they played really well but DLSU did better.

what really worked for lasalle is that 90% of their players are all-rounders. kahit mag first ball si alba, okay lang kasi covered siya ng iba na may setter mindset din sina dela cruz, soreño, at jazareno(of course if libero, dapat master din talaga mag set). kahit broken play, maganda pa rin paluin yung sets kasi plastado din yung pagkaangat ng bola kahit di yung setter nag set. tapos aside sa superb blocking defense, intense din floor defense ng la salle, lahat may first ball. si canino, kalaking tao pero ang bilis, maaasahan mo sa likod. aggressive din yung mga middles ng lasalle. grabe. as a long time fan, same sila ng “engine” nung MAMAW days (if you know, you know). grabe solid ng lasalle nun, never na champion yung admu “fab five” kahit malakas din sila dahil may MAMAW. ❤

Ang galing ng LaSalle mag adopt sa laro ng NU. After 1 year na domina na nila ang NU. Si Belen lang kasi matatag lumaban. Wala ng suporta sa iba due maybe to poor preparation, coaching and acquisition of new players to match vs. New reinforcement of DLSU in Angel Canino. So happy as a DLSU fan but I just want to commend Belen kase grabe pinakitang tapang nito. She's the protagonist of this match for me, talagang kinarga nya yung NU at tinake-up nya yung role ng leader kase sino ba naman asahan nya dyan? Robles nakabangko (and rightfully so kase maganda pinakita ni Alinsug), Nierva imbis na sumuporta nanira pa ng plano. And finally Cagande, na super reliable naman kaya lang mas umaasa sila kay Lamina. After ng tatlong 5th years na yan sino pa ba aasahan kundi yung mga sophomores. Kaya kudos din kay Belen. The net defense of La Salle hindi masyadong nagmanifest, kaya grabe nagshine yung digs ngayon. Jazareno grabiii talagang trabahong trabaho si accla. Si Soreño hindi gumana pero si Solomon din naman kaya tabla lang. Si Jolina lang ang consistent attacker nung umpisa kaya okay ako kahit siya or si Justine POG.
