John & Craig - Thanks for making this extremely helpful series of videos. Due to the banishment of face-to-face play, I subscribed to Roll20 and purchased a module and a handful of token assets, and watched some of Roll20’s tutorials. I then I found myself in UI hell, and my party and I abandoned Roll20 after 5 sessions. We are now trying out AstralTableTop...more intuitive interface, but missing some major features, and no pre-made D&D adventures available. However, after watching your very informative videos, I’m going to give Roll20 another try. Thank-you for taking your time to record and post these (and editing them into 30 min, digestible chunks). I’m a fan of your excellent Scriptnotes podcast (though not a scriptwriter, and have no intention of being one), grateful you are D&D nerdz, and that you mentioned these videos in your “One Cool Thing” segment. You guys rock...and both of you deserve unlimited Inspiration!

I feel like I am very late to the game but I have been DMing since '84 and now want to venture into the online gaming world. Thanks for making these great videos. So helpful and so well done.

Thank you so much for creating this series of videos. I'm having such a hard time with Roll20 from a DM perspective despite having no problems with it as a player, what a nightmare it is from a UI/UX perspective.

This is an incredibly helpful video series. I'm sure I'll end up watching it multiple times and keep referring back to it. Thank you so much.

Thanks for making this. I've been a pro subscriber and a Roll20 DM since this spring but I feel I'm just good enough and knowledgeable enough to run a basic game but I don't feel "proficient" in Roll20. In other words, running games still feels clunky to me and I feel like I'm missing out on utilizing some features to make the games run smoother. Looking forward to seeing where your tutorial takes me.

Thanks a lot. I'm going to host a game on Roll20, after running games since 1979.

Is it practical, usable, to take screen shots( for campaign/module) to run a game? I own a file of this and I have hard copy.

Why post that token marker sets are at 6:33 when you click on that time stamp and you say. Then there are tokens, we will talk about that later.

If I'm pro sub, can my free sub friends get my pro sub game? like be able to use the dynamic lighting?
@Khakhanable2 жыл бұрын
Fairly new to Roll20, myself, but yes. Pro subs have Shared Table Features "Unlock your subscriber features for all players in the games you create."

The picture of the oppressed woman to your right, the viewer's left is super distracting.

If YOU want to make her dress a certain way, regardless of HER choices, then you are the oppressor and an ignoramus

@@Winterheart786 Hey look, I left Islam decades ago. I agree, forcing women in specific clothing because some men can't control themselves *is* moronic. I agree, Islam is an oppressive religion and I'm so glad I left it. It's a shame western feminists make life so much harder for those in Islamic countries.

That's a picture of US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. It's next to a picture of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley. She definitely wears the hijab by choice. Your ignorance is showing.

@@AbeDillon Oh, the woman who married her brother? The one who got booed by her constitutions when she got up on a stage at a concert. I can never remember the members of the Shortbus Squad. Ignorance? Can you imagine someone who (I'm assuming here but from your message it's clearly you're a male feminist) who'd probably purport to support female rights supporting a religion that relegates women to second class citizens who are worth half of the value of a man.

The portraits behind you are visual feces. I am sure your games are run well, however I cannot take you seriously. The channel does not look to be gaming focused. Instead it looks to be politically focused. Turn off.
