My hats off to you Lionel. That gamble paid off tremendously. Beautiful machine and awesome innovation. Thanks for sharing this with us Aron!

WOW. This was 3 Years Ago 😮 The time flies. It's great going back through some of the older videos. I can totally understand Lionel's hunger to get back on the tools. As much as I enjoy time away from my shop. Always the first place I go when I get back home. Out to my shop and say Hello to my machines 😀 I am sure they must miss me as much as I miss them 😁 Would be great to catch up with both you and Lionel when he comes back for a holiday. Last time Lionel was here, I was just going on holiday. Hopefully we can organise a get together this time. Looking forward to it 👍

Hi Peter. Thanks for going back and looking at the videos. Yes that was 3 years ago now. Can’t believe how the time flies past us. Absolutely, next time he comes back I’ll organise something. Maybe a quick visit down to your neck of the woods. Cheers Peter. Aaron

Wow! What a leap Lionel made. While fancy DMG Mori machines are impressive, a big story about an entrepreneur is even more so. It takes quite a hustle and vision to make it all work. Fun to see this.

Hey Luke. Thanks buddy, we are having a blast over here. Hey, Lionel read your comment and he says to say hi. He remembers you vividly from Greensborough Model Aero Club and your excellent 3D flying skills. Oh course I told Lionel that I taught you everything you know about 3D (cough, cough, bullshit) ha ha ha ha :-)

Whaaaaa???? No CAM software? I am VERY curious why----looking forward to the discussion about that. Personally, I put a lot of effort up front getting my various CAM systems dialed in so that I can make the machine do things that are totally beyond hand programming. I am able to do it quickly too, make changes, updates, etc. Tell us more Aaron......

Hey Carlos. Yes it's crazy I know. Lionel got poor service from the FeatureCAM resellers over here in Asia. The US guys stepped in to help, but the mob here wouldn't test the post for him. Hence he will travel back to Australia soon to sort it all out. So out of necessity he had to program the machine to make these crankshafts. So he did it all with Microsoft Excel and some clever mathematical formula, which spat out the G-Code of him. Then using DXF's produced via SW he used the conversational programming on the machine to do the counterweights roughing and finishing with the head on a 30 degree tilt angle (he used math to calculate the cutter contact point angle). He's one clever cookie that is for sure. More to come in the next video mate. Cheers, Aaron.

ESPRIT is what were using and the post is supplied from DMG. DMG write posts for most major cam systems for their machines. Big dollars tho

Manny Calavera Hi Manny. Lionel did look at Esprit, but it‘s expensive and comes with a very steep learning curve. Don’t get me wrong, it’s the “Mac Daddy” of CAM software, but I had a full day of 3 axis training back in 2014 and I couldn’t even turn it on at the end (story embellished). He will spend time with the Aussie rep and check it out thoroughly. Please feel free to contact Lionel via FB (link in description) as I’m sure he will value your input and experience mate 👍🍻
@Sketch19945 жыл бұрын
@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Esprit is reaaaaly steep! Sometimes trying to trick/fool the CAM software to do something can takes days longer than going by hand. No CAM package in the world can replace a deep understanding of the controller and it's functions.

Hey Aaron. It was great seeing Lionel,s shop. I am sure it was an eye opener while visiting. It,s good to see that i am not the only one running a CNC without CAM. Would be interesting to know why he has spent so much money on a machine to create a fairly straight forward part. But there could be more that i have not seen. At least he has local support for his machine, which might account for the purchase. Thanks for including us in your holiday. Have a great time over there. All the best. Regards Peter.

G'day Peter. Thank you so much for watching and joining in on my holiday experience. My wife and I are having an absolute blast over here at the moment. I think you'll enjoy the next video as Lionel will show how he is generating G-Code via Microsoft Excel and some mathematical formula. He purchased this machine to chase the hard stuff. He was let down over here by the FeatureCAM agents. Lionel will head back to Melbourne soon to sort it out with the Autodesk Australian agent for featureCAM. Cheers, Aaron.
