I have kind of mixed feelings about Bivol. On one hand, he's one of the most skilful and elegant boxers I've seen. On the other hand his style makes it seem like amateur boxing - all about points rather than the kind of violence that attracts a lot of people to professional combat sports. For him it seems to be about simply applying the rules in a sporting contest to achieve a higher score and win the contest. His opponents very seldom look like they've been in fight. While I enjoy watching him fight, I still get more excited by fights where there's real aggression and malicious intent...

Thank you for your review and opinion, it's all true. Bivol is very disciplined and organized, he Boxes with a Book. This causes the battle to focus on gaining scores and playing safely. but soon he will fight Artur Beterbiev . he will be in trouble long term. Well, blame the change of the rules for all of that, which in a chase of taking all subjectivity out of judging boxing matches too, adopted at least some of the rule set used first for amateur boxing. Still, I also have to say, that Bivol box as a gentleman and clearly he has no need of ending every match with a KO and never fell threatened by the opponent. When it comes to the opponents looking like they have not even been in a fight: Did we watch the same match? His opponent Looked exhausted like he had just run a marathon at every single break!

This Russian style is better than the American Philly shell style. You can tell from this fight. Bivol’s style takes years to get down. Congrats to Dimitri Bivol.

if your metric for which is better is the time it takes to learn then idk what to tell...do you think Floyd learnt that style in a few training sessions😂😂 Point is, every style works. I don't expect any other fighter to be as good as Bivol using his style the same way all these new Mayweather clones can't properly imitate his style and get themselves in trouble. Individual talent and attributes (fight iq, personality) + skill > pure skill

Philly shell is a defensive tactic using the shoulder, not a style. There is no punching style associated with it. Russian boxing is a fighting style that involves using spacing to maximize your jab as well as much head movement.

Very good technically, but does leave his left low on occasions and l have seen him caught by a wide right that he doesn't quite see in time. Good fighter who is open to help from his team during a bout and that makes him a top fighter in my book. Did beat Canelo very well with a great planned approach. Hope the Beterbiev fight comes off.

Zinad gave Bivol a good challenge. Strong Big guy. Bivol had to dodge a lot of bombs to avoid being KO. Bivol much more technical counter puncher. Bivol can take anyone in his weight class out if the opportunity presents itself. Bivol definetly won this fight. But he earned it with this fighter.

DB put on another boxing clinic. In and out, creating angles everywhere, punches in bunches. And again, he looks like he is outweighed by MZ. Throughout the entire fight DB kept him off balance, did not see to many clean shots get in on Bivol either. He also looked stronger than MZ. To me he is the best boxer in the business. Lomo is second,lol.
