I learned four things, 1) they listen to the same music in Russian gyms as in American gyms; 2) Dmitry squats DEEP; 3) Dmitry's set is not finished until he has stepped away from it and laughed very loudly; and 4) Seriously, Dmitry squats DEEP

Klokov's form is perfect here,slow and controlled descend with a nice pause at the deepest point.Absolutely amazing technique.
@christianlionel19888 жыл бұрын
+stefanos lisgaras Can you explain how to breath while squating. I never used to think about it and have been doing fine but now when I hold my breath before going down and breathing as soon as I go back up I feel like passing out. All the pros do it this way. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you
@stefanoslisgaras87188 жыл бұрын
+Christian Lionel If it feels like you're about to pass out then maybe you should use less weight,try that and see how it goes.It's not something to ignore,if you pass out with 300 pounds on your back ugly things can happen. The technique you see on the video is simply holding your breath as you descend and then slowly releasing air as you go up.The purpose of the whole thing is to fill your gut with air so that the pressure will help you ascend,it's the same with deadlifts and pushing your gut against the belt. You take a big breath,hold it as you go down and then release it as you go up,simple as that. If your technique is fine you really don't need to do it the way a pro does it,I mean you don't necessarily need to go that deep or hold the bottom position for that long.You can get all the squatting benefits just by going parallel regardless of what you read online or what "experts" say.
@ioniordache8372 Жыл бұрын
@@stefanoslisgaras8718 good comment until the last part... squatting ass to grass has benefits that just going to parallel doesn't; like a deeper stretch of the muscles, increased mobility in the joints and stronger and more injury prone ligaments. the "experts" say it because it's true.
@HonkeyKongLive11 жыл бұрын
I love the VASTLY different styles here. Klokov dropping down deep and holding the bottom position but only doing one rep, Polovnikov not going rock bottom but repping it out more.
@ctsd6233 ай бұрын
Klokov has talked about this in seminars, he does the slow paused squat to help his snatch and c&j, it helps eccentric strength during thr catch so he doesn't have to drop as low. He also does higher rep sets of squats on different days...

Bodybuilding isn't about function, it's about size and aesthetics. Powerlifting is about moving maximum weight. Weightlifting is about weight, form and technique. No point is arguing which is better since the end goal of each is very different.

Dmitry Klokov what's the cause of your Bowlegs ? I respect you big time you are an amazing strong beast, but I notice you have bowlegs, Do you ever notice you starting to have bowlegs when you were going heavy real heavy on your pro oly liftings.. at what age did you develop bowlegs ? sorry for asking too many questions .. but even with your bowlegs you still perform amazing. I was starting to show some bowlegs stretching before my weightlifting squats clean and jerk snatch and all that, all leg knees, hips, everything stretch before my workout, I stop working out for about a month and my legs coming back to normal I don't show any look of bowlegs, reason why I was doing all different type of dynamic stretch and warm ups so I can reduce the amount of injury for my workouts, heavy days and light days with high reps. I see you use alot of knee straps so your knees don't come out more , I never use any of that probably I will start to use some of that so I can avoid the bowlegs look . sorry for many questions but Would like to know few answers and results of the bowlegs Dmitry Klokov have.
