These song and video are the Christmas present from my friend Natalia Melnik and me. This is an arrangement of the famous Carol of the Bells (I love this song!), in fact, of three songs at the same time. Not many people know (as I didn’t know either) that the original song is the Ukrainian carol called “Schedryk” from the word “generous”. Later this song was adapted into English and became world famous. We combined both versions and also added the traditional God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen which is well suited here.
We did our best to create this video and hope you’ll like it! One can say that we worked seven days and nights on it. Here is some statistics: mere audio recording took more than 13 hours and the same amount was spent on audio processing. The entire vocal and choir are recorded by just two people which are Natalia and me. Filming took about 7 hours on different days. There were 25 Gb of videos filmed including videos from a flying drone. Also some recordings from my trip throughout Europe were used (Berliner Dom, St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral). But the most time consuming - more than 34 hours - was video processing. There were more than 67 hours of collaboration in total. Many thanks to out families for their enormous patience! The result was worth it! We are happy with our creation!

Интересное кино! Все певцы молодцы, как на подбор. Мне даже показалось, что они братья. Только чего то их многовато для близнецов. Но то не важно. Главное, что песню английскую хорошо спели и перевели на украинскую мову. Это, правильно, пусть россияне завидуют, как наши хлопци за кордоном спивають. Политический акт совокупления культур получился круто!

Акт слияния культур получился даже интереснее: я сам русский, жена - украинка, а живем мы в Австралии :) Музыка - вне политики. Мы спели эту песню только потому, что она нам очень нравится, безо всякой дополнительной подоплеки. И мы ее не переводили: мне давно нравилась Carol of the Bells, и только недавно я узнал, что ее оригинал - это украинская колядка "Щедрик", как написано в комменатриях к видео. Удивительно, как бывает: всемирной известности рождественская песня пришла в мир из Украины! Вот мы и решили спеть в одном клипе и то, и другое. Судя по всему нам удалось передать атмосферу и правильно спеть на украинской мове :) Рады, что понравилось :)
