People have no idea how strong weightlifters are. Maybe it's a good thing because a) the population can still enjoy things like powerlifting and strongman and be blissfully unaware of the strength athletes that could embarass everyone else and b) when you dwell into the world of weightlifting you slowly, very slowly, start to realise the mindblowing lifts some of which are made in some remote gyms by people who will never enjoy fame.

Its true..... often Oly are not ridiculous at their first power competition .... in reverse its totally different. You can Bench 220 k( 485lbs) in raw deadlift 400 (880) and be no able to clean a 180/ 400lbs bar in one month !! A great o,y .ike Chemerkine or Krastev able to 215/250 kg in cj/s 275 in front squat... 200 in millitary press CAN CRUSH MAJORITY OF POWERLIFTERS ( NOT 1% ELITE PERCENTILE.SAVICKAS OR MADDOX ARE OUT OF REACH OF OLY LIFTERS

Охренеть можно! Что творит Диман! Я очень рад, что Димка нашел свою весовую категорию. +105 - это его категория. Надеюсь Дима будет тренироваться и выступать в ней. Результат просто потрясный! Давай Дима - порви иранцев!

One of my favorite lifters. Never really picked himself up again after the 2011 WADA bust and the IWF ban. By the way he got busted for DMAA which used to be found in Jack3d which he did take as a supplement but he did not know that DMAA was banned substance. Oh well, ignorance is no excuse, but still initially 4 years ban and then reduced to 2 years for DMAA is too much. I am sure there are some politics involved.

Rigert is not in the picture at 205 & 210 but when he lifts 215, Rigert is there hands in the air rejoicing , you then know it's something special.

+skirts365 Has Father Time made him younger, changed his overall appearance and removed his glasses? That'd be the first time he's done that I'd reckon, but I guess there's a first time for everything.

Sorry, don't think there's an oly weightlifter in the world that can put top men in strongman and powerlifting to shame in strength LOL. Misha Koklyaev has attested to this. While he put up a great fight in strongman, and a very formidable total in powerlifting, he's far from the best of the best. He's an AMAZING weightlifter and all around strength athlete, but each sport is a specialty. A 200 snatch is no different than being a top HW strongman, or a 2300 total at 275 bw.

Weightlifting = mostly based on technique Powerlifting = mostly based on strength Strongman = based on a bit of both The only thing is that in weightlifting you get these little guys weighing around ~130lbs doing a 500 lb back squat, which can be mind-boggling to some people.
