Unfortunately india is going full capitalism & rapidly turning into a materialistic hellhole. In developed countries like Switzerland, Austria, Germany they have EMU train connections to each and every village in their countries. I regularly watch European train travel on KZbin and it's really surprising that there are many people in those countries don't own cars despite being filthy rich, because their govt provides excellent public transportation so they don't have to use private cars.

Even with money you can't get quality life that's why people are leaving India in droves. One cousin from my mother's side went to Germany for studies & he told me that, quality of life in Germany is unimaginable for us living in this 3rd class country. Despite being a leading car manufacturers in the world & despite having one of the best high-speed roads (Autobahn) in the world, they have an extensive public transit infrastructure through the country. My cousin bought a monthly pass that let him take any bus or regional trains all over the country without any extra charge. And if you are in a hurry, you can get in a bullet train (ICE) that travels in an incredible speed (300 kmph). So even super rich people don't bother driving unless they're enthusiastic & actually want to enjoy driving. This is the polar opposite in our country where you must need a car just to get from one place to another because public transit is non-existent. And good luck enjoying peaceful driving with all the chaos in the roads. So even with money the living standard is pretty bad. What the use of money if you can't even take walk in the evening. Sometimes it feels as if cities like Dimapur is made for cars not for people. Countries like Netherland, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Russia, etc, have big natural parks in every corners of their cities and they built their avenues for people & bicycles, not for cars & motorcycles. They have trams, e-buses, metro-connections in the city center to compensate motor vehicles.
