Glad you two are enjoying all of the recommendations. Your wife is totally on point. Jane's Addiction is/was like no other band. Like her, I grew up in LA in the 80's and 90's and got to see Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Rage Against The Machine, No Doubt, and Fishbone, just to name a new. Also, Jane's Addiction is so hard to pin down. They aren't grunge, alternative, rock, or metal. They created what we now think of alternative music, but their importance in music is so huge. They are the epitome of LA rock. As you can also see, Dave Navarro is just a monster on guitar (which I know you can appreciate), Perry's voice just carries so beautifully, Eric Avery on Bass and Stephen Perkins on drums is just a perfect combination of musicianship. Their music is both heavy and melodic at the same time, which is so hard to pull off. For a band with just 4 original albums, their influence is so heavy even 35 years later. An amazing band.

The bass intro is killer and I was lucky enough to see them in London back in October 1990! 😎

The whole album is fn mind blowing. Janes are definitely one of the greatest bands on the planet and Perry is just awesome to watch on stage. Nothings Shocking is one of the greatest albums ever made 🤘

Saw them live on a double bill with Nine Inch Nails. Jane’s played first, then NIN. Best concert of my life. I wish I still had my NIN|JA shirt

Top 5 all time favorites. Janes is it. You are having the same feeling as I did in 1987, I was 17 then. 4 years later I was the bass player in my first band and this is the song we opened with. Only difference now is, I can play all the parts. Playing the bass, drums or guitar for this loud and proud is the way it should be. You 2 are great.

Seriously though I understand what you mean about the energy. This is on my Playlist for my commute to work. I bike. Average around 14mph but when this comes on, 16-17 easy.

I saw Jane's in 1988 in Portland. They were still a touring bar band in a van. Rag tag dreads and jeans hanging on by a thread and they freaking ROCKED!! Then I saw them with Primus and the Pixies and the last time I saw them was on the first Lollapalooza tour in Seattle. They evolved but the music always slayed

that is Mr. Eric Avery on bass ... one of the greatest out there ....

Then She Did will take you on a journey. It's a song written for the mothers of Perry and Dave. Like others said Ted Just Admit it and Summer Time Rolls.

Seen this band so many times through the 90s and as recently as last year! Such a phenomenal and influential band. This is their Masterpiece from start to finish. I recommend you listen to Ted just admit it. About Ted Bundy but not glorifying him.
