There is a different one with just I Shot The Sheriff, but it isn't as good as the vid with all three songs.

Haha I was just thinking you guys have only really seen some of his rap stuff so far. Ren is a crazy good singer…. And there are many other talents you will discover as you go through his backlog. Chalk outlines will blow your mind. The acoustic version of this is worth its own reaction too.

Great reaction. I recently learned that Murderer was actually written and recorded before “Hi Ren;” it was shot in Brighton in the Spring of 2022. Ren works with videographers Sam Perry Falvey and Luke Flegg for the cinematography. The credit for this video goes to Luke Flegg. Catherine Blake (@KittyRunsMarathons) shared that Luke explained that he did the camera work by himself. In order to get the effect of doing a one-take he took overlapping footage by him leaning into/out of the car with the camera, trying to line up 99% at the threshold, and later made cuts going into and out of the car. Luke points out that there is a white car that appears parked when the camera comes out of the car, that isn't there when they pull up. Others have pointed out that the guy being abducted and stuffed in the trunk of the car is the person featured at the beginning of “Animal Flow” hanging from the ceiling. Hence, “Murderer” is in some ways a prequel to “Animal Flow.” The live acoustic version of “Murderer” is incredible and my favorite of the two, and I would highly recommend you watch that performance as well. It is a little different from the music video version.

The kidnapped guy is supposed to be the guy in the hood in Money Game. Ren ties so many songs together with his lyrics. For example, he referenced Money Game 2 in Hi Ren with the "she sells sea shells..." line. Then, in Illest of Our Time, he referenced Skreech's Tale. There are more examples, quite a few, actually. I can't wait for him to do an entire concept album, like Pink Floyd's "The Wall." I know he will do it eventually.

The kidnapped guy is JoeFlakerz.. and he is the tied up guy in Animal Flow.. the guy in the hood, playing awesome guitar in MG1 is Romain.. his remarkably talented band mate from The Big Push xx

@Soetsussie Yes, correct. I know Romain played the hooded guy in Money Game. But I meant as a character. Not the actor. I swear I heard Ren say that the guy they kidnapped in Murderer is supposed to be the character in the hood in Money Game. I might have completely misheard, or even heard it from someone else... not Ren. Do you happen to know anything about that?

@@JohnFnLopez hi, he said in the live after murderer that it’s Joe and that he is the guy tied up in Animal flow.. I guess they shot it in one order and then released it in another order.. also now that we know Joe.. it is easy to spot him in both videos 😋😁
