The odd thing is, is there's a video, when both artists were touring together when the both of them were coming up, and they were freestyling behind stage, and when reporter asked DMX who he looked up to most as a rapper, his response was Jay Z. When young, DMX really admired Jay Z, but of course this was before Jay Z really blew up and established himself. Surprisingly my height, and the deepest voice I had ever heard in person , he told me to call him X and was easy going and polite and warm.
