Great video! I was stationed at RC 4 back in 83 & 84 (A Batt 2/61!)! Met a lot of GI’s from Cp Pelham in our Ville Songyu Ri… Good times - Good memories 🫡

I was there when it was Camp Garryowen (4-7 Cav) from 2003-2004 till when we closed it down and handed over to the ROK. What a fantastic time I had! It looks like so many of the ditches and general layout remained over the years. We still had a bunch of the original quonset huts and buildings based off these photos. Thanks for putting together!

Brings back fond memories... Some of the best times of my life were at Camp Pelham (HHB, 2/17 FA - 1983-84). I rented the street view hooch on the second floor over the Boston Club... Party Central! I miss all my friends I met there! Ricky P.

@OldSchool My MOS was 93F and I was E5 then. We had our own barracks and storage buildings. Our radiosonde tracking device was on a tower. We were worked 12 hours on and 12 hours off for 7 days a week. I had to get a pass to visit my wife when not working. My son was born during that time. Our warrant officer thought he was our "god". The first meeting he had with us he said he was "god" and that the weather section was his white house. He was being divorced by his wife in the states and hard to please. Although bottle gas for the weather balloons was available he made us generate our own hydrogen gas as well. The process left a whitewash residue which he put to use. We were sent gathering all the sand we could find for sandbags, filled them up and made sandbag walls all over the place. We were required to whitewash all the sandbags. He had us paint the Ground Tracking Device tower red. Guess he figured if the North Koreans attacked and we had to withdraw the GMD would be bombed first anyway. All the equipment not being used had to be arranged for display and properly labeled. It was intended to impress his raters I guess. He left after I did but I was told that the next Warrant Officer in charge had all of his predecessors "White House " sandbags disposed of and everything returned to normal

Thanks for the Video. I was stationed at Radio Indianhead just east of Camp Pelham. Way back in the day 1976. Lots of great memories of Camp Pelham, RC4, Camp Giant, and Sonjuri. One of these days I'll have to share my pictures and audio from those times.

Was there when Pelham was 19th Arty, 1 st Cav Div, in 1962 and 1963. Sonyuri had no pavement and no lights after 9 PM. My unit was 21st Arty, Camp Summerall and was north up in the hills I would guess about 4 or 5 miles. Thanks to any who read this for your service. I honestly believe we made a better place for those people. It was some of the saddest times of my life seeing the way they struggled to live. Getting old now but enjoying life in Daytona Beach, Florida. Godspeed to you all. Hollis J Cox, HQ Battery, 21st Artillery, 1st Cav Div.

*Charles Daliere* Hello Charles, Randy Krauch (from California) I shared barracks with you, '78-'79. The aerial shots of our little Camp are wonderful. Remember Han Il Su and Che Son Ju and our House Boy, Mr. Ho. So long ago for a then 19 year-old.

I was at Camp Howze 83-84. "Rock" I was there when the South Korean cabinet was blown up, was some crazy moments then for sure. Locked Loaded (for real) and headed for our primary Kill zone We still burned our crap on the DMZ back then (it was F/U duty lol). I lost a man, he went back to the ville to see his girl, walked in the her hooch and she had 2 guys with her. He came back to the "Z" walked into the Armory took 16 and sadly ate a bullet. It was a crazy ass tour to say the least.
