I've been searching for videos that explain replication's origin simply but in detail, just like you did. Thank you very much!

I love your videos man. Just enough depth for a graduate-level drilldown. Thanks a lot!

11bp and B1 B2 and B3 are only restricted to budding yeast and some other related members but the ORIs in Schizosaccharomyces pombe are completely different. They are more similar to higher eukaryotes!

How many 9mer repeats are there? Is it four ? In some book it is written as five 9mer repeats
@theCrux Жыл бұрын
There are 10-15 9nt repeats in general. R1 R2 R3 and R4 are considered moderate to high affinity. Others internal ~9nt sites are not as high in affinity but cooperatively act with R1-R4. All these repeats are usually 5-11 nts; only R1 R2 and R4 are close to 9nt. I would like you to revisit my comments at 8:30 mark in the video. Also note that this oriC organization is a consensus. Depending on the bacteria, it may be that you have all R1-R5 available, some only have R1-R4, and others have some combination of internal sites added or removed. This picture is a consensus of expectation, not a fixed/rigid picture of every single oriC in bacteria.
