I've never watched an entire episode of Criminal Minds, but because my dad watches it I see a few scenes now and then. And somehow I managed to fall in love with this character from just that. Someone stop me from watching 14 or so seasons just for him.

Something that I just thought of is that in his childhood, his mother couldn't even keep track of the days. So she probably had a hard time keeping a job. So Reid most likely had to get a job and go to school at the same time. I'm not sure if the father sent any money, but he would have to send a lot to pay bills and everything, so I'm guessing that Reid had to get a job. And another things is, although Reid loves his mother so much, he is so afraid of becoming her or maybe just schizophrenia in general, because he grew up seeing what it did. And then his mother got alzheimer he had to live with taking care of her again and not knowing if he would get it to, and forget everything when all his life he's never been able to forget anything(okay that might be a little drastic, I'm sure that he forgets some stuff)

man, this one feels personal. My father is bipolar, mental illness runs in my family, it goes back generations. This year, in January, I had myself admitted into a psychiatric hospital for severe depression. I feel those generations catching up with me and I can't do anything to change it
