Never have I said I'm a professional by any means but I've successfully done now nearly a dozen Lites and a handful of regular V1/V2 Switches. This is a noobs guide for any PROFESSIONAL people that want to come here and say I'm doing this wrong. I have 4 kids that play/played with their modded Switch Lites for nearly 6 months now with no issues so my soldering skills must be fine. So if you're here to talk smack I'll just remove your dumb comment and BuhByee you from the channel. This has helped many get rid of the anxiety of doing this so get a grip. Anyways enjoy your modded Switch if this was helpful hit that thumbs up! NOTE: Don't skip anything and if you have second thoughts then reach out or get someone else to do it.

Hey awesome, if this is something new to you just take your time. It's rewarding when you get it, it's also hard for me to personally to film me doing this as this is the third time I've tried filming the Lite and this one turned out great.

Glad to help you get past the anxiety of soldering. I've done over a dozen Lites now and a handful of regular Switches and I'm still a noob I'd say. Just take your time, take a breather, use good solder wire and don't skip the flux. There's been a lot of people from my very first video about this that have helped by telling me some tips as well.

I've already done this mod on a V2 with a busted screen that I consolized in a 3D printed shell. I plan on doing it to my Switch lite as soon as my Super5 OLED screen mod comes in. I'll probably take off the APU shield and apply some PTM7950, then use some Upsiren UTP-8 putty, instead of the stock stuff.

Great video. I am waiting for you to do an OLED. I followed your video for the V2. I purchased a brand new OLED. The board is out and I have the mod chip. I have not had time to finish it. A smaller 3mm or 4mm solder woks better for me. I also upgraded my soldering iron to a Pinecil V2. That little thing is awesome.

@DNAMobileGaming14 күн бұрын
Just take your time, get good solder, flux is a must, and kapton tape only. DO NOT try any other tape as Kapton tape is heat resistant and won't melt.

@@DNAMobileGaming Bought everything you recommended minus the microscope! Definitely going to need to take my time as I have pretty shaky hands. Also, I remember you saying it in the video but I can't find it now. You said you put the soldering iron up to 450c, right?

May I ask a question? I mean I'm gonna so.... (I have soldering experience just not micro soldering) at 38:14 onwards when trying to line up the holes to the pads underneath, Would it not be simpler to apply a small amount of solder (or even tiny solder balls if you have them) to the pad first. Solder tends to ball up so if you get a tiny bit on all the tiny pads could you use that to line up the ribbon cable easier and then tape it down. You could then "tap" each ball (with flux on the ribbon pads and a bit of solder on the tip of the iron) to solder the ribbon to board. Like I said I'm no expert just a though I had,

Eh so I actually watched my video twice before releasing it and thought to do this after seeing it up close. The 3 double through holes I find flow best the way I did it however the B point and Ground plus the other 3 points to the other capacitor could be pre tinned for sure. I might have another one I'm going to do soon and I will film it as well, so I'll share an update if that works better. Thanks for the idea as well, as again I thought of this too because that one B point always gives me issues but it eventually grabs.

Will this tutorial work for the regular switch? And does it matter that my switch is on version 19.0.1? I want to mod mine but I dont want to break it ofc >.
@SayanVanparys25 күн бұрын
Also when you are done is there a different tutorial on the software? Or is it just straight forward when you start it up?

This is only for the Lite, the SD Card setup is the same for all 3 mod except the non patched V1. Yes it works for 19.0.1 you just need to setup the firmware.
