Elemental strikes - change damage type and force a saving throw to move the enemy around the battle field. 04. Level 6. Magic action spend focus points to do an AOE attack from 120 feet away. (Old Sun Soul monk ability?) 05. Must spend Focus points to use/ activit abilities. 06. Level 11 when you activate ability you gain fly and swim speed. 07. Level 17. Every level you cam gain/ change a damage resistance. 08. Speed increase plus damage from moving around. 09. Once per turn can do extra damage.

6th level feature really either needed 4 martial die rolls or the ability to use it as a replacement for an attack when taking the attack action. As a full action for 3d8 damage at a cost of 2 points from levels 6-10 it falls flat.

As he mentions, it's a 20 ft radius sphere. If you hit 4 creatures, that's effectively like doing 3d8 four separate times. Though really you would only need to hit 2 creatures to be doing more damage than if you had just used unarmed strikes. And it scales with your martial art die becoming 3d12 later. And then on top of that, you can still Flurry of Blows or just use a normal Martial Arts unarmed strike as a bonus action since it's not tied to the Attack Action anymore.

And that's just damage. The Warrior of the Elements can also grapple from up to 15 feet away using its elemental unarmed strikes.

it needs to be similar to fireball. anything less does not compete with two attacks instead. There are too many ways a normal attack can be buffed.

Grappler feat, can punch and grapple from 15 feet, enemies your size or smaller dont lower your speed, step of the wind to dash away. Have fun snatch and grabbing enemies off the battlefield and dropping them off buildings.

It's even crazier when you realize if you play something like bug bear you could do it 20 ft away and also deal a lot of extra damage If you're able to attack before they can.😂 This new class is awesome and this one particularly improved a ridiculous amount

Bringing up the stretchy arm just reminds me of Dhalsim from Street Fighter. And...is there a Monk subclass that could do stuff like that, even in homebrew? Toughen your skin, even enhance punches in different ways (like 3.5 where at higher levels, your unarmed strikes counted as magical silver or even adamantine for piercing damage reduction, etc?

With a few tweaks, I think you could easily reflavor this as a psionic monk subclass, something that really should have been made already with the other psionic subclasses.

Is The Way of the Ascending Dragon or Warrior of the Ascending Dragon going to be revised?? I think i want to play the Warrior of the Four Elements. I hated the 2014 Monk & Way of the Four Elements, it was horrible. I hope the person or persons who wrote it, is unemployed.

Unfortunately, without spiritual energy also know as Ki, this just a martial artist pretending to be a monk. Also, without Ki it is not backwards compatible.

It is backward as you can interchange the word "ki" with the new focus point.
