Had the Xperia 1 IV for the last year, really impressed with all the options available to capture and record video; I'd also add that the Xperia Stream is necessary to maximize the potential of the 1 V. Most phones with built-in coolers have a huge form factor but Xperia can get a similar gaming performance and take off its cooler after to retain its slim feel.

Updates are overrated...I have a galaxy s9+ for over 5 years now which stopped getting updates for over a year and it still works with no problems...both my parents have old iphones and they haven't updated their phones in literal years but both phones still work perfectly fine..yes its nice if companies keep up with updates but its absolutely not needed..its also a ploy to get people to think they need a new phones..so when the updates stop people low key panic and they buy a new phone which means more phone sales in turn more money for the phone makers

Don't worry about software updates because Sony will give the most stable software than other popular brands. What I care about is that the last software is the most stable and no bugs so the phone can be used for longer years without any issue.

I'm currently waiting for the Xperia 5 V to come out. The 5 series fills the same role as Asus' Zenfone lineup, and neither are open to compromise. Of course, being an avid fan of OnePlus' last good flagship, the OP5, there are still things that bother me about the Zenfone that have me hesitant. For instance, I don't think that the side is the best spot for a fingerprint sensor (although it's better than the back), but more importantly, it's just kinda thick and heavy compared to the OP5.

To this day, I've never seen anyone walking around with a sony phone or a zenphone. It's always either an iphone or a samsung phone. At first, it was always one of their low budget phones, but now everyone just buys the latest offering from their carrier and slaps insurance on it so if it breaks, and they do, they can get it replaced quickly. Same thing for the iphone. Everyone was rocking an iphone 6 for the longest time and then boom, everyone is walking around with an iphone 14 pro max cause that's the top of the line and it'll take 6+ years before they have to worry about it.

You're telling me the only cons you can find about them is the length of support with updates? I was literally holding off on getting the Sony because of it's price but if the only con is the lifetime with os updates, then i might get it after all. I used a samsung S7 until my phone no longer could use my mobile bank app, which really tells how often i actually change phones. Someone might say why not go for a samsung or one plus instead if i use them for that long? And the answer: Mediocrity. Samsung and One Plus once had my interest and now they just blend in while feeling like they are trying to accomplish the same. Which is why i swapped to the ROG 2 once it came out, but i swapped back to the S7 when the ROG 2 died after it's warranty expired and insurance wouldn't cover repairs.

Hello, I have had this phone for 2 months and I can say that: 1. the screen was filled with scratches, 2. the back cover has become dull on the edges, it looks horrible, as if it were a fat cake, what a worst choice, trying to make the phone lighter, they chose this shitty plastic. 3. the zenfone UI functions, which should make your life easier, are stupid, for example the 2 times tapping function on the back of the phone works when it feels like it, or the one on the volume button, or the one on the sensor button, the phone is not calibrated enough for that. 4. when there are several active functions, or Wi-Fi is turned on, the battery discharges very quickly and even heats up. 5. the phone feels in the hand during operation, you simply feel the radiation, the SAR value is at the upper limit, it is not recommended to use it too much near the ear. 6. the frames of the cameras are uneven, I don't see what the point would be, anyway if you put the phone on the table and want to write or browse applications, the phone dances terribly, it cannot be used in this way, a special phone case is needed. 7. the material from which the back cover is made retains odors. 8. the phone tends to get hot, the programs are crowded and often more confusing. 9. I had to strongly reduce the number of functions to save the battery, if I don't use it it lasts for two good days, but I have to charge it overnight so that it doesn't discharge the next day. 10. still a Chinese shit in the end. I wanted it to be 10, but it's 11: the camera is under critical condition, until now I didn't think that there would be something like this on a flagship, incredible Asus, the worst software, I don't want to say more...... my review is 100% true, I don't want to offend anyone

Carl pei It's right that small phones don't sell at a huge scale but that's really not the point. There's enough people willing to buy them that they can still warrant a place in the universe. The idea that every single phone has to be between 6.5 and 6.8 in is kind of stupid. You could even increase the margins on small phones. You can't produce them at as much scale because of lower sales, I guarantee you there are enthusiasts that would be willing to pay $100 tax just because they're so few small options. But of course you also have to factor in the smaller funds require less material and less shipping weight. Don't think we're asking for a small phone revolution, just two or three decent small flagships are released in a given year would be nice.

it dosent really matter how long manufacturers support OS updates. 2 OS updates is about 3 years time, those who look into these kind of top of the line devices, will end up just buying something new come out in the later years. Okay, so after watching this whole video, the Sony has some excellent camera features including the live stream element. Personally I went for the Zenfone 10 because it has more RAM, is shorter so one handed use is sublime, a newer processor, benchmarks higher and, at least based on the Zenfone 9, still produces pleasing shots in blind camera tests, flawed as the overall setup and prowess is. On top of that, longer security update support (more important to me than OS upgrades) ,and a more palatable price point for the top spec, it's a winner in my book. It benchmarks higher and the battery life is great, and it's a unique little device.

@@marasion0862 You don't need to see them in person; read the specs. The ZF10 is taller than the S22 and 23, but slightly narrower. It also has thicker bezels. The s23 ultra is the best phone I've ever used and owned coming from the s10 plus and why i gave the a53 to my mother. The Samsung s23 ultra is better than the iPhone 14 pro max and Pixel no comparison, and I've used all 3. For those of us who know tech, we always knew Samsung was way more fun to use with more capabilities than the iPhone. I used to be an apple sheep many, many years ago, and then I transitioned and never went back. I remember apple phones being the most boring limited phones I've used. The only thing I use on my old iPhone 6s is the imessage period. Even using the 14 pro max irritates me because my s23 ultra does way more. Also, the camera is way better than the iPhone and more fun unlimited features. IPhone sometimes give the perception of better battery because it doesnt do anything basically. Now, with the pixel, I don't prefer the operating system, but I respect the pixel camera. Only gripe I have is the missing micro SD card. When it comes to those things like edge panel multi tasking, S Pen capabilities , 10 x perfect clarity, UHD 60 and hdr 10 video , all those unlimited features are close to perfect. The s23 ultra is the most value for the money, no comparison! However I will say the Sony Xperia V 1 with the micro SD card and headphone jack has impressed me and it will be the next one I get even despite the lack of facial recognition!

Android is the best because I can literally plug in my Fold 4 into my monitor and use it as a PC. I do all of my daily personal computing with my Fold - I sold my Microsoft Surface thanks to this. PS can we please stop acting like the ZenFone isn't bigger than the S23?

I don't mind about short software update support, what want is the last software update is stable and no bugs that's all so it can be use for longer years without any issue.. I like android phone because of variety of phones to buy too. For now I have good phone for camera and now I want a good phone for gaming at longer session without sacrifice my battery health I want to buy RedMagic 8 pro soon. iPhone? No.. no matter how good it processor is it will overheat and throttling because iphones has bad thermal efficiency, even last year android phone can surpass latest iphone in gaming. Last things is I can do many thing with android OS that iOS can't do.. only advance android users know this.

Yeah I don't care about OS updates and nearly as much as security patches. The Zenfone 10 It's finally at least hit a passable offering on security patches. Same with Motorola they've all pretty much jumped up to 4 years. ZenFone 9 wasn't promising more than two.

If android went back to high performance tech with a competitive price I could see an argument for it being a better OS. But as it stands the value proposition of iPhones is just too good to pass up. All the features android claimed as their own are now on iPhone just with better hardware and more agressive pricing.

you must be fucking joking. The iphone 14 is literally the same as the 13 + a few antenna lines and sum shit. Apple has never and still aren't price competitive, without their reputation they wouldn't be selling. The Walled Garden™

Comedy. Personally, the decrease in software freedom and repairability you suffer by going the apple route completely kills the value proposition. But maybe you're right if we're talking raw performance at only the moment of purchase.

Android devices vary greatly in price, from budget devices up to flagships at pretty much the same price as iPhone. And there actually still features left that are not to be found on iPhone such as proper multitasking, 3.5 mm jack, microSD-support (well, at least on Xperias and some budget phones) and desktop modes such as Samsung Dex or Motorola's Ready For

It really is a shame. Personally I don't mind it too much because I do need the second SIM tray, so previous models wouldn't have allowed me to use an SD card anyway, but I run my own Nextcloud to auto-upload things to from my OP5 and the 128GB of that phone have always been well enough space, even when auto-downloading hundreds of youtube videos for offline viewing.
