Vince is 2 years older, but since TMac entered the league straight out of high school, he was drafted the year before Vince. TMac is an all time great on his own merit, and along with Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant, he helped define scoring from the shooting guard position after MJ's retirement. He was arguably better than Vince at their peaks, but he never had playoff success or the longevity as his cousins. Despite that, he is already in the Hall of Fame.

Low key one of the greatest scorers of all time. And the only player that truly was able to go toe-to-toe with Kobe. Kobe literally said that he was basically him, but taller lol 😂 If it weren’t for his terrible teams and all the injuries, he’d probably be a top 10-15 player of all time.

@@henrimarjoan7876 Honestly T-Mac himself had a better career than both brothers, he led the league in scoring 2 times and was a 7 time all-nba team selection while Pau had six. As for Marc he never had a season where he averaged more points points than Vince, nor does he have as many all-star appearances and they both have the same number of all-nba’s teams they were a part of

Ausar and Amen Thompson were drafted this year. They are identical twin brothers and they were drafted 4th and 5th overall in this years draft. There have been a few sets of twins in the NBA and plenty of brothers/cousins in the nba over the history of the NBA to answer your question!
@craigmanning7873
@craigmanning7873 7 ай бұрын
For the plays where he intentionally bounces it off the backboard to himself, the NBA has a definition: “A field-goal attempt is a player’s attempt to shoot the ball into the basket for a field goal". So while ultimately up to the official scorekeeper, it would usually not count as a true attmept at a basket and therefore not a rebound either. Note that while padding the rebound stat this would also hurt your field goal percentage stat. It's actually happened more than once that a player has intentionally missed a field goal at the very end of a game in order to get one more rebound for a triple-double, only to have the NBA after the game go backt and change the stat to no rebound (since it wasn't a true fg att)

People forget the Orlando T-Mac who lead the led in scoring after leaving Toronto and really became a star but didn't have help (due to Grant Hill injury) and eventually had a nice duo with Yao Ming in Houston but both could never stay healthy or they would maybe have 1 championship in an era with Kobe, Shaq, and Duncan in the Western Conference. You guys should absolutely watch Grant Hill who was LeBron James in the 90s before he arrived, and Jason Kidd who played with T-Mac cousin Vince in NJ and came in league same year as Hill and is a all time great PG because of his court vision/passing & intelligence

You don't get credit for a rebound for throwing the ball to yourself off the backboard because it doesn't count as a shot attempt. If it hits the rim, then it counts as a missed shot and you get credit for a rebound, but it's very difficult to deliberately throw the ball off of the rim in a way that you can predict where the bounce will go in order to follow it up with the dunk. Deliberately missing off the rim and rebounding it to score has been done on free throw attempts... John Stockton did it rather famously many years ago, and I recall DeMar DeRozan doing it when he was with the Spurs, but it's very rare.

It's pretty cool to think about. They Vince and Tmac met before they found out the were related. Vince was at UNC and Tmac in high school. Tmac would sometimes participate in pickup games with the older group and use Vince's locker. In a way it was recruitment for Vince. But Tmac was drafted in 1997 after high school, and Vince in 1998 after 3 years of college. The older one recruiting the younger one, in during the 1996/97 college season and then The Younger one telling management to draft the older one for the 1998/1999 NBA season.
