Yes and no. Murray hasn't played well but it seems like anytime someone struggles It's Instantly "trade him". MPJ STRUGGLED In the playoffs, and he's now been able to find his rhythm so far. how we've been playing has a lot more to do with not having a great bench and not having a defensive big. To be fair, he sucked in the playoffs because of a calf injury. MN was a bad matchup for him, having to guard Ant and try to run the offense. Game 2 was when I realized the Nuggets are vulnerable. That game mapped an answer to the Nuggets other teams have studied, unfortunately. Russ in the starting lineup would benefit alot, because it makes the nuggets come out fast and change this slow pace they always have. They get beat for the last 2 years in the first half because they are a slow transition team. He should be livid at his GM, Calvin Booth -- the worst in the league. Russ has played better than expected but they have the weakest bench in the NBA. MPJ and Murray, both vastly overpaid, are good players, not All-Stars. Denver has Jokic so they are going to win enough games to stay in the playoff hunt but without consistent support, they are no match for deep teams like OKC and Boston. Booth has squandered a championship level team by a lack of effort to replace valuable vets like Bruce Brown. Because so much money is tied up in Murray and MPJ, they couldn't afford Caldwell-Pope. The young players -- Watson, Strawther, Hunter -- are just Ok, there's no one in there that is going to shake up the NBA. If Denver wants to win another championship with Jokic, they need to fire Booth and shake up the roster -- you can't win with this group. Apparently, Booth is getting (or gotten) an extension so they aren't serious about winning another championship.

If we're not careful with who we trades or sign, that's only going to cripple the team even further. Patrick Williams is still a guy that need development. His ceiling may be Andrew Wiggins or Kawhi Leonard, but it would take years before he even scratches the surface of his potential. There's just too much commitment in a young player like that when we already have our own young core players to develop. There are tons of better PF/C out there we can get for cheap who are in the NBA. One big I really desire is Nick Richards from the Hornets. He technically is a backup center for them behind Mark Williams, so the price for him shouldn't be high. Patrick Williams is too young and inexperienced. Javale McGee is washed and too volatile hence he's not on an NBA team now.

I don't think Malone should be so discouraged feeling to throw comments that it is on Jokić and Murray. Even though they have this leader status with other teammates. Murray has been horrible for a year and a half now and in the Olympics. Signing him to a max contract was a huge mistake. Now Joker is stuck with a bad team for years to come. MPJ's contract was almost as bad. I have no idea what Denver's front office is doing.

Murray is the most overrated, MPjr is a decent 3rd option and has averaged 20ppg n 8rpg in past 4 games off 49% which is decent, murrays doing worse for more pay.

Maybe starting Russ as the point guard instead of Jamal is a good idea. Maybe it’s not. Regardless of anything the coach did, it wouldn’t have made up for the lack of effort this game.
