A better question is, "What is the type of person an Alien wishes to meet?" A wise answer would be, individuals with resources and discretion, and the ability to laugh.

A better question, Do humans want to meet each other? I imagine if Aliens observe this as a collective yes, they would be more open to the idea.

I think it's funny how we use the word "Alien" without recognizing the huge assumption we hold of aliens having individual agency like we do.
@lostinbravado
@lostinbravado 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's far more likely that individual agency fragments and dissolves with progress. With not much more progress than humanity has currently made you could and I think would, spread your consciousness over multiple bodies and minds. Centralized agency seems like an extremely risky way to exist, is it not? That's how we've always existed, but if we could choose something else, would we? I think so. We don't seem to think very deeply into this. That makes sense to me as this is pretty terrifying. If you think about it, there could be thousands of aliens here already, existing in a diffuse state in the air, as a Gas. There are a lot of ways an agent could exist within known physical laws. Little grey men seems like the most silly way for them to visit us.

Every so called "scientist" that does not see that the universe is a living thing is just a mechanic. His mind can only process the obvious parts of life before his eyes. Everything is alive. Life does not end at the other side of a cell's membrane. A city is an organism too. There is no isolated system in the universe. It's systems within systems, overlapping each other. God is life itself. Everything in life is connected. We are part of a greater being. Religions are just different languages, they are an attempt to communicate this insight to other humans. With science getting more and more of the picture (macrocosm, microcosm), and people getting educated about it, it will be easier and easier for everyone to understand it. For that:☮️, you have to see this:☯️.

You don't expend the resources necessary to travel to another star system just to share all you technology inevitably creating more competition for your own species. You would expend those resources if you had to continue to expand in a search for more and more resources. We could quickly become the food that fuels them as they grind down the mountains and drain the oceans.If anything ever comes it will be to take not give.

Human understanding of cosmic sociology is still in its infancy and here we are homo sapiens lighting a big ass bonfire in the dark for whatever is outside our perception and ability to detect and saying "HEY ANYBODY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD", if something can hear us will it be benevolent or malevolent, I personally like the dark forest theory it's all science fiction and hopefully dose not become non fiction at least maybe our solar system may end up as a nice painting on the universal canvas

>competition for species I think if UFO’s and the like are alien, I suspect that it’s not anything like we think. It’s probably autonomous systems going around doing god knows what, possibly not even at the behest of any species anymore, and possibly without agency or personas as we know them. Just another thing, like an organism, with some strange origin and inscrutable motivations.

Sometimes late at night I fall into a trance like state in between wake and sleep and have had some pretty weird experiences of "something" trying to communicate. It communicates in a way I can't explain that seems to be based on some sort of visual phenomenon that is interpreted into intent. Idk. I can't find the words, very strange.

Alien life is very likely aware of our presence here on Earth, how interesting our achievements and emotions are to them is another story. If there is an extraterrestrial civilization capable of finding intelligent life here among the vastness of space, whose to say they wouldn’t find other life bearing planets in the process. I like to think Aliens are waiting for humanity to be ready to make the first move. Then again, maybe it’s like we have a galactic neighbor who metaphorically has a way better T.V. than we do, and the rest of the neighborhood is just more interested in hanging out them.

It might be a painful and violent affair for them to meet us. Communication is actually a type of transfer of experiences and identities between two or more sentient beings. It is naturally a destructive and creative process more advanced and probably more effective in some respects than sexual reproduction. Connections in the brain are broken and new ones formed.

I think aliens will be as different or more than us as plants are. Imagine we didn’t have an example of only life and we came across it out there. Would we recognize it as life?
@TheJeremyKentBGross
@TheJeremyKentBGross 2 жыл бұрын
Right? We can't even really communicate with dolphins and whales which are super smart mammals on our owm planet that are relatively closely related to us as far as life here goes, despite that they obviously have very complex speech patterns. It's even more true for plants and fungus and such that appear to have intelligence and communication on other time scales. Also how do we know that aliens would identify as as individuals rather than civilization itself a the life form. I mean, do you recognize the cells in someone else's body, or a mold growth? Or do you only perceive the whole? What if aliens are inside stars and it's too cold outside of them for them to exist.

Humans are about a million years ahead of apes, technologically and intellectually. Have we met apes? Sure. Are all apes aware of us? No. Do any apes understand us? Probably not, or at least, not to any great degree. Do we study apes in their natural habitats? Yes. Do we work to preserve natural ape habitats? Yes. What if we are the apes in ET's reality?
