@@tamooz6649just get used to at least shooting in the enemy direction between healing waves, unless your team is giga dying and they need nonstop heals. Don't greed suzu and tp too much, but also don't use them on everything. This stuff mostly comes with experience, but you can try to think about enemy's abilities and use yours to deny that. And I would advise against using tp and suzu together unless you really need to, most of the time you can use only one (throw suzu from a distance or just tp to an ally away from danger), because without them you're very easy to kill. Also don't forget that you can climb xD

I personally wouldn't say support is in a good spot when only a few heroes feel viable to play. can't tell you how many times I've been borderline harassed if I don't pick lucio/bap/kiri/moira. that being said, the tank role definitely has it the worst and dps players are definitely thriving this season

yeah it's not like every tank player gets harassed every game if they decide not the play the favorite tank of the month from blizzard for almost a year now. the DPS when they don't counter pick. you also mentioned like half the supports in the game and your teammate also picks one which makes it way better than other roles. other roles have had to deal with this for a while now, support players never try to counter pick cuz they never needed to since most the were versatile and viable. now you actually get treated like the other roles to an extent.

I main Ana and she does have a lot more problems, the Dps passive is percentage base so it hit characters that don’t constantly heal or has the biggest numbers the hardest and Ana falls into both those categories. The dps passive also reduces the healing you get from your own Nade, so Dps have a way better time diving you and The bigger projectiles buff makes it way easier for people to headshot a scoped or unscoped Ana from far range which makes playing against Orisa or widowmaker sorta stupid. Ana can no longer three hit kill on certain enemies which makes killing nearly anyone a lot harder outside of just tracer, which doesn’t really change that match up.. Also before the massive overwatch HP change, they nerf most of Ana abilities in some way and that already made Ana harder to play in general.

I agree the ranking feels so broken i played with a friend for SIX HOURS straight and we only lost maybe 4 times and I still didn’t rank up. Also idk what happened so many ppl rn are so harsh on support and blaming us for losses. They added self healing and yall still can’t stay alive is crazy…

Whenever people ask question what role is the hardest, there are 2 interpretstions. The hardest role to bring value to the team and the hardest role in terms the amount of skill it takes to play these characters and there is big difference btween them. Tank heroes are not hard to play, the role rn is just that bad that there's not much you can do with your very limited kit. Dps is the hardest role for sure when it comes to skill expression. They have a lot of tools and it takes a lot of skill to utilise them.

Honestly, I feel like if there are the same heros being Meta in a role - then there are clearly balance changes that need to happen. Support sucked this season because people hear support and think healing. So you could be outputting the same amount of healing - but it wasn't as impactful period. It also sucks because the things that effect GM/Master's doesn't effect the Bronze-Diamond players and vice versa. So when a change is made for one group being vocal - the other group kind of suffers for it. Which sucks - but there's not much you can do about it. I just wish more people realized this and that there was less hostility between the ranks and players about it.... Another amazing video! 💕

As a support player I really love playing tank right now, but miserable playing support. I have people yelling at me when they die and accuse me of not healing them even though I was healing them the entire time they decided to be a bullet sponge. I just utilize my support gameplay when I play tank and it keeps myself and the team up.

I definitely don't agree with most of the takes here. I hate the state of support right now, but to be fair, a lot of my favorite supports are dumpster tier right now (Lifeweaver, Mercy, Illiari). In my opinion, If you're not playing a carry support (exclusing Illari) then you aren't having a fun time in season 9. These days I've been playing a lot more Moira out of necessity. I hate that hero, but the state of the game is so weird right now that I feel like I have to play her to have any impact. I can't help but notice the amount of moiras / kirikos -- meta supports -- there are in this video and I think if you're playing one of those heroes then of course you're not going to complain. Those heroes were strong even at the end of season 8 and now that the meta has shifted to reward dps a lot more, its no wonder they don't notice much difference. Their playstyles didn't change at all. If anything, they were rewarded. I found it interesting that the Lifeweaver mentioned that he feels like the meta shift made it so that LW's healbot playstyle is re-inforced, which feels boring (to them). As a LW main I don't necessarily mind that, but what feels worse to me is that they doubled-down on his healing playstyle with his latest buff while simultaneously trying to make healing less impactful. LW's design was already a fail, but its just been exacerbated with this meta when the one thing he was designed to do was intentionally made to be less impactful.

Support is not the role that gets most blame if shit hits the fan, that role is usually the tank. Support does get the blame but not the most. Big reason for this is that the Tank is usually in the focal point for everyone so everyone can see how good or bad they think they play.

I'm happy about supports place right now, but it makes me really angry that Zenyatta was the one support I couldn't play yet (besides Lucio). Yet when a teammate kept yelling at me to play Zenyatta because he's meta and called him simple and easy, which I KNEW HE WAS NOT. But I picked him purely to make that guy shut up but I thought I was effectively throwing because I haven't touched him. But then I started killing everything, and the entire tide of the game shifted, and we won. But this just makes me angry because I didn't actually put any effort into understanding him yet but because I have decent aim, he just melts everything. I feel like I cheated.

He's not particularly hard to play, just be sure to keep up Harmony on someone (I usually default to the tank or anyone who I see is diving like a Genji) and Discord the tank or whoever you're focusing on at the time. But because Zen is also an offensive hybrid, you have to be able to know how to land his shots and because his shots also have travel time, it's a little hard to get the hang of. Aside from that, it's really just being able to know how to stay alive which can be hard to do depending on the enemy team comp.

@@Than211 Oh my, thanks for the tips; I still have a lot to learn, so I will keep the who-to-target suggestions in mind. I still don't have the game sense of who to discord and heal other than "somebody at all times." I luckily can aim with him, though, I haven't always been able to, but I learned to aim through this weird system I have, so I can now just understand most projectiles except Lucio for some reason. Like I also can aim as Genji, but I will never use him because his play style scares me XD

12:40 I stopped playing support this season. It just doesn’t feel right to me atm and my favorite support Illari was in the dumpster until the mid season patch and Ana has just been mid so I just stopped and became a DPS main for the first season ever.

I think people saying that Ana is/was bad was just overexaggerating, she's still plenty good. Illari, on the other hand, is still quite bad if you play her as a healer because her gauge and healing didn't get adjusted even though everyone else's health pool did. That said though, if you play Illari as a DPS, she's still quite good, I'm just not skilled enough to play her as a DPS personally.

Lifeweaver needs a few buffs to become more viable. His maximum charge should go up to 100 to be more proactive with damage; and if not, a damage buff. His tree having a cleanse and reduced healing would make it much more useful. Despite him never being in the main meta, I want him to at least be viable as he's my main.

Compared to last season, support is heavenly now. Last season was fucking abyssmal, Mauga single handedly ruined an entire season. Only like maybe half the cast is viable right now but its a step up from being hard forced into Ana Kiri every game. Its really just Mercy, Brig, Illari and Weaver that need help rn. Dumb ass tanks and dps that dont understand that we cant outheal bad positioning anymore will absolutely throw your games though. This isnt S7 anymore. Overall Id say positive changes (assuming your team arent idiots) from S7. The dps passive was definitely needed, the absolutely bullshit we could do in S7 was not healthy

This season feels absolutely terrible as support (obv. tank too). "Season 9 didn't change for support..." is distinctly an incorrect take. Mainstay supports like Ana and Mercy are unviable in most comps. Constant unfun matchups eg. Moira v Moira and Zen v Zen, dive and snipers focus galore, and the inability to make up for even *slight* overextensions or DPS/Tank diffs, due to the overall nerf to healing output, makes support feel completely pointless to play. Teamfights are entirely dependent on DPS mechanical skill, removing a substantial amount of impact and autonomy from both support and tank. Glad DPS are finally eating, but as a support/fill main, every iota of desire to play evaporates immediately within the first game of the day.
