Ben, great job with this video. Your information was exactly what I was looking for. @2:35, nobody else mention how the $9 Apple headphone 3.5 mm adapter includes a built-in DAC. Thank you for posting that! Belkin also makes a 3.5 mm adapter but that is $39(mostly because you can charge at the same time as plugging in your headphones). For now I'm using the Apple EarPods to take advantage of the lossless music. They are comfortable and I can wear them for extended periods. Keep up the great work

Hey I know it’s been a while since you’ve uploaded this but if you do reply, I have a question. Overall, in a comfort and a better audio quality/listening experience standpoint, would you recommend the Fiio IEM or the ATH M50xBT? Thank you for your time.
@b3naqua8 ай бұрын
I’d recommend the ATH-M50xBT for overall listening. I still use them a ton, probably more than my Fiio IEMs, which get kinda hot and moist lol. I generally prefer over-ear headphones for this reason, since they allow ears to breathe and are more comfortable for longer periods of listening imo.
@donpatrickgacutan79723 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben! Its me again, I have another concern and would appreciate your opinion. The Fiio FH3 has so many great reviews but the price is quite out of my budget. At the same time, I’ve been hearing a lot of good reviews about the CCA CA16 which has a 7BA+1DD as compared to the FH3’s 2BA+1DD. I’ve also heard many good review about the Moondrop Aria. Now, between the 3 - the Fiio FH3, the CCA CA16 and the Moondrop Aria, which one is best for you and why? Highly appreciate your expertise on this please? Thanks so much in advance!
@b3naqua3 жыл бұрын
Hey Don! I haven't tried the CCA or Aria, but I did try the Moondrop Starfield and the FH3 sounds wayyyy better imo. The Starfield was good too, but the FH3 sounded more detailed, clean, and exciting to me. FH3 also feels a lot more premium too in terms of build quality and the included robust cable.

@@b3naqua Hi, Ben! Appreciate your response! Thanks, man! Yeah, been hearing a lot of good stuff about the FH3’s, its just that the price is way off my charts. I was thinking, with that price, will it be better to opt for an over-ear headphones instead? More power to you, bro! 👍😊

It’s really subjective cuz some people prefer over the ear headphones more than earbuds, and vice versa. For me, the better the source song file is, the better will be the sound. Ofc if it is in wireless, you will loose some data’s from the initial file because of the compression especially from Apple’s ecosystem that only supports AAC codec which is (clearly) not the best one in the game as it compress very harshly the source. It works via wire but make sure to turn them on tho, if it’s off the sound is weak, it’s seems to have an internal amp that uses the battery.

Good Q! According to Apple (support.apple.com/en-us/HT212183), AirPods Max doesn’t support lossless: “The Lightning to 3.5 mm Audio Cable was designed to allow AirPods Max to connect to analog sources for listening to movies and music. AirPods Max can be connected to devices playing Lossless and Hi-Res Lossless recordings with exceptional audio quality. However, given the analog-to-digital conversion in the cable, the playback will not be completely lossless.” So confusing 😵💫

@@b3naqua so should we expect Apple to come up with a cable designed for lossless audio for the Airpods Max?

@@christiananasco8937 They are bringing lossless to HomePod, so there is a chance that they can make hi-res lossless wirelessly to the APM. We can dream :))
