I don't understand whether cricket is alive or dead in Australia. Like crowd usually does turn up for important matches like the Ashes, etc. Even some of the big bash games are very well attended. But if you ask a random bloke on the street to name 1 or 2 key players of the national squad, he wouldn't be able to.
@solidcricket3 ай бұрын
For them ashes or the test matches in December are like festivals . Its like in india when u know what diwali is but there is no guarantee that everyone will know what are all the rituals for diwali . Over here rituals are the players. for them, it's the Ashes. That's all they care about. If you win the Ashes they love you, if you mess it up they don't wanna know you. And the players too prefer test cricket over white-ball cricket. Cricket Australia is very bad in terms of management of the sport. A few years back, cricket was as popular as it ever had been in past, but CA screw it up. Eventually, soccer caught up among the younger generations and now the number of children playing soccer in Australia is 2-3 times more than cricket.
