I try to comm and if ppl r toxic I just mute them. I don’t lose anything if im the only communicator I have everything to gain if ppl are cool/ give comms

Sometimes you can't comm because of your teammates. I don't comm a lot because I don't want to get called slurs every single time I speak, and end up having to mute 3 out of my 4 teammates. With the latest change to map pings, my previous playstyle (where I'd use the voice commands and pings to indicate enemy locations) doesn't work as well.

I think some no comms are people who qued together. Myself included, we just use team chat instead of the global chat since we speak a different language when comming. We still comm the essential though such as how low the enemy is and where they are or ult status like that

Back when I played Valo, I played with a friend who rarely used comms. And everytime he wasn't using comms he was on tiktok so you were spot on with that comment. At least when it comes to my friend. When he isn't on tiktok he use comms normally.

One thing you might have not considered is how some of the no-coms are women, they'd rather not talk than have to support an annoying misogynist pestering them the entire game. People will say 'mute them' but the damage is already done because those people no longer focus on the game but on harassing the women in the team instead and it's almost a guaranteed lost. Also, it has happened that the girl that answers back get a suspension for defending herself...

i’d argue that this is an incredibly gross overrepresentation of reality, i guarantee you in 99% of lobbies no one cares if you’re a girl, i need you to comm because i need the info. i’m not a woman so i can’t say, but i play a lot and i get at least one woman per session who talks and she has fun w the team and comms and it’s great. you can’t live in fear of that, you decided to queue comp, i expect you to play with the team, including comms

Guess I’m getting really unlucky and losing the 1% coin flip every game 😂 Even if you believe it “doesn’t happen” it’s happened to women enough that we don’t even want to find out if it’ll happen again. We learn the mechanics, we spend money, we want to win just like everyone else. That “1%” is the grossest underestimate I’ve ever read. If some no comm Jett can unmute his mic round 14 just to call us a slur and tell my team we’re all ass, surely we can justify not talking

@@bryceferguson1265 you guarantee in 99% of lobbies "nobody cares" yet you urself are not a woman nor do you experience what it's like to play comp as one. I stopped playing bc even just my name before i would talk got me harassment almost every game i played. Kid you not 3 times in a row once... all different ppl. Comms are never worth harassment :P

@@bryceferguson1265 You said it yourself, 'I'm not a woman so I can't say' : like I've said in my comment you won't know a woman is going no comm, because fun fact, she's not talking. The harassement of woman on valo is such a common experience that there are compilation on yt. You might have the feeling your games are fine because it's not an issue that involves you. If you only bothered to look around and ask online you'd see getting severe sexist on valo is way more common than you think it is.

I totally agree with keeoh. Even me in plat lobbies decide to not comm because i don't feel like it i end up impulsively doing it. It's just so hard to actively not give information to your teammates to win the game

Comms may not be the sole factor for winning, but it really helps to be more alert of your surroundings and helps the mental for sure. Sometimes over commsing is distracting, but generally it's good. I just hopped back onto Val after not playing for months and I didn't notice I had ult, teammate reminded me. Didn't win the round, but I appreciated the Comms. Also, I had a match where we lost 2-13 and the opponents were trying to tilt us by saying gg/ez, teammates were positively commsing and I actually enjoyed playing that match over matches that are much closer

That's why I use the clutch key mute. Helped me tremendously when I just needed silence being left alone. It's really nice to have.

Chamber as a single senti has been a throw ever since the big nerf. Only map i'd consider solo chamber on is breeze and thats not in the pool atm anyway.

Chamber on bind isnt bad either tho, u can just stack a while having chamber hold hookah or long passively, then let him take contact or just fully commit to hookah and just trip long

as a girl when i talk i get blamed for losing the round/game when they realize im a girl, this NEVER happens to me when i dont speak lmao. and you would think people would be more pissed with a no commer but they actually just get more angry when im a woman 💀 when i botfrag i get accused of being boosted, but often if any male botfrags hes just having a bad game lol. i think i experienced less gender discrimination/toxicity when i hit immortal but even then some of those ppl’s mentals are fried

I got to Ascendant with no mic, no VC, and no text chat. As soon as I tried to "play more seriously" and turned the stuff on, I fell to low diamond. Didn't help that Valorant is a buggy mess and I'm one of many that have a random amount of delay before push to talk works - up to a few seconds. But, whether comms help you depends on you - how good are you at splitting your attention, tolerating stupidity and toxicity, not feeling pressured when someone tells you to do something that's wrong, etc. Most streamers will benefit from VC because they're already multitaskers dealing with horrible people as a job.

very late on this video, but I typically don't comm out of fear, as a woman there has been countless times where I say a basic comm to help out my teammates and as soon as they realize there is a woman they either: stop comms completely, harass me the entire game, become overly sexual despite me explaining I'm a minor and am taken, or on the very rare chance not care at all. I know people say to mute them, but majority of the time I can't sacrifice the little comms they do give, or the damage is already done and I struggle to gain focus again.

i think the policy has to be to have atleast 30sec delay as a streamer. yeah u cant interact with your chat but u give your team a very hard time. but love you anyways

yeah this is good but it’s tough to isolate the variable of only comms. The no com games were after and started about 3 hours in so you might be more tired. You played different maps and agents. It’s a really good idea but it’s tough to really know if comms really makes that much of a difference. I’m only really saying this because I moved recently and I can’t use my microphone anymore, but my win rate hasn’t been that bad despite no comming. Maybe try this off stream too to see if you get different results

The rank you are in definitely affects comms, high ranks weed out the more offensive actors and it’s generally more enjoyable to comm in asc-rad then silver-plat. In ascendant I have never been outright flamed for a bad performance, ppl are way more understanding and motivate u to do better. Whereas in gold and plat someone would call you trash .01 seconds after the game ends

I've been trying to go from b3 to silver for weeks now. Everytime it's my rank up I get 1 -2 afk players. I don't mind loosing when it's bad players, I'm bad, but afk players are driving me nuts

Comms are important. But it's not gonna make a difference that's noticeable if you don't know how to igl. It's pretty clear you don't as all you did was give callouts, which in it self doesn't do THAT much. Still a lot but not even close to as much as if you actually igl'd

Too many comms is also not good, I lost a game cuz my Clove was literally IGLing and speaking 24/7 and it gave me headaches and couldn’t focus on my own gameplay anymore. We were winning on defense 9-3, but then we lost attack cuz the IGLing was too much and we didnt win a single round.

I live in Egypt and the valorant vc is banned over here. I cant hear anyone talk nor can I speak, only option is chat. (or vpn but my ping is 90+ when I use it so I cant play properly) I dont complain tho as I see how much shit most women get on there in some games when they comm. I usually js duo or 5 stack and I'm fine. My duo tells me what they comm n I know whats going on. Obv solo queuing isnt an option for me so that kinda sucks, especially in higher elos :/

Take on stream sniping: At the end of the day, stream sniping is the same as using all text to give locatations: The enemy can pay attention and use it or just ignore it. Someone that chooses to stream is gonna have that on their plate. I dont consider stream sniping cheating at all because the streamer is giving the information so...

valorant is heavily reliant on info-gathering and knowing where to take position, so if someones stream sniping they already know exactly how to play against the enemy team in a way they wouldnt expect, most of the time stream snipers are telling their team what the enemy team is doing before the match has even started or giving them updates on their location through voice chat. saying stream sniping isnt cheating is probably the worst take i have heard

@vcyberia You missed the point of what I am saying: The streamer is basically telling in all chat where the team location is. The enemy can or cannot take advantage of that. It's really not cheating if you as a player are already providing that information for free and not using any tools that bypass anticheats in Valorant.

Of course comms arent entirely necessary, the higher you go the more similar everyone plays, evenwithdifferent playstyles the players are more in unison, talking always takes effort and focus, valorant is well designed to not need comms. But comms are good for deludong yourself into sort of justifying that you are involved in the game when you were entirely unnecessary, if i tell you to get an ace after dying,even in this ridiculous scenario, if the person gets an ace then i sorta will get some sort of weird credit for telling them to do it, no tangible rewards tho, just an ego thing.
