Thank you, i heartily believe all land based creatures deserve to have uvb if they so wish and you have helped me confirm I made the right choice.

Hey, what about amel/albinos? How are they gonna fare with UVB, since they don't have melanin?
@ReptilesandResearch6 ай бұрын
They still do okay, the just need a lower amount

Is there any research that shows having D3 levels near the upper limit of the feedback loop is better? It's a slight jump in logic to claim that this higher D3 level is necessarily "ideal". Also that study is only n=12, definitely still an interesting result but it absolutely needs a bigger sample size. Also, why do you support lighting over additional supplementation?

Actually almost all land dwelling animals including humans beings need access to UVB to remain healthy. Cave life and deep ocean life don’t require it but get it through their food.

Isnt the self regulation tied to a certain balance in the uvb uva wavelengths? Great vid, too bad mr. Wickens chose to base his vid on his personal experience and need for clickbait. Wish mr do your own research would feature some actual science in his very popular vids

its the uva2 that aids in providing the breaks yeah. This is not directed at Adam, I actually saw lots of people saying UVB does nothing in a FB group called corn snakes UK and was shocked. This is what inspired this video.

@@ReptilesandResearch all good, my comment was directed at him though. Just think vids like his last one (particularly the corn part) make progress in husbandry that much harder. Usually his points are solid and helpful. This time tho :/
