Do DJs need an external mixer?

Does the age matter on a Mixer ? I mean a Yamaha MG10XU would 2014 would not sound as Great as a rane one ?

Sound quality wise age isn't to big of a deal with mixers. Newer mixers do tend to have better sounding effects, but that's not always the case. An MG10XU is still being made today, and for good reason. Yamaha mixers are great and the built in compressors are so much nicer than hauling around a rack compressor.
