Trapper Dan's ATV breaks down and he has to break out the Ebike to check traps. Setting buckets sets for bobcats, connected on a big male coyote and the first water catch of the season.

Thanks for posting bucket set. It's about to start raining here in Texas, so it's going to be after it moves out before I can get out there. Thanks again.

Thanks Mark. I hope you get some bobcats too. I saw those coons waking up, at least they are big. Tight chains!

Nice, mad trapper does buckets. Doesn't spike down. He puts handle down , just lays stick along bothe sides one gets lure on it. Hangs over front. Throws leaves inside bucket urine on leaves along side bucket. And trap in front. He catches lots of cats. Might watch his video

Thanks Ken, Yes I have seen mad trapper and his bucket sets. It was part of my inspiration to try them. So far walk-through sets are the most productive for me, but I love the speed of the buckets. We'll see how they do this week.

A stinks ya missed the opportunity on that cat but it's a huge positive for your trap location.

Yeah, that cat might be bucket shy now, but we have another week to try.

Would it make sense to drill some maybe 1" holes in the back and sides of the bucket to help with scent range? Or do you think they would spend too much time investigating the smaller holes?

We do have venting on weasel and fisher boxes. I’m not thinking I’d want the bucket like that. I’m hoping the visuals and scents drive them to the trap, so I’d rather not have them smelling the back of the bucket.

I guess I should wait to comment at the end but i normally don't. I think I'd try getting a piece of 1/2" conduit or the diameter that will fit over your stakes and use that for the camera You're most likely gonna have to drive the conduit in just a little to stop it from rotating. Then hang some flash on the top of it. I have never done this just a thought I had from seeing deer scrapes camera'd on field edges. Good Dan. try to stay warm good grief Idk how y'all handle those kinda temps.

That’s a cool idea. I like it! I did strap a camera inside the bucket on the miss location. Let’s see if anything else comes by
