I agree mgm is bad, but there can be some positives like less infections, but they can also be prevented by just teaching your child proper hygiene. There are no positives that can from fgm, even in the least invasive form. Fgm also stems from oppression of women, with it being performed to control female sexuality so women remain virgins until marriage and remain faithful and also to increase male pleasure (usually more egregious forms of fgm). It's not the same for mgm. That's why people are more critical of fmg, along with mgm's normalisation in the western world.
