Thank you for this video mate! I’ve been using UV filters of good quality on my lenses. The main reason is to protect the lens glass in two ways: for protection against breakage to a point but the second to protect the lens against the elements like taking photos near the sea where is very likely to get salt water splashed onto the lens. Imagine trying to clean that on your lens so it makes more sense buying a good quality filter scratch resistant to clean it.BUT lately I’ve been thinking if an UV filter should be replaced by a clear filter (good quality) as I’ve been told the quality lenses already provide the UV protection as part of their specs.

Just goes to show, that with the number of glass elements inside of a typical lens, adding a UV filter probably doesn't make any difference. I guess it would be more noticeable using a macro lens, or telephoto where the front element is really using near maximum macro/zoom for the shot
