My instructor gets mad if I suddenly approach slow traffic and I slow and change to a lower gear .. that's if I skip a gear . If I slow and move from say 5th gear to second gear without using 3rd or 4th gear he keeps shouting like a bull 🐂. I know he lacks but I like these videos they known what they're teaching

When i start driving for the first 3 days i was having a problem to change gear 2 and i wasn't even known when or how i can change gears. The one teaching me didn't tell me anything about when or how i can change gears. Now i know and i can't wait to go and drive tomorrow to surprise my instructors. If you slow for a reason, maybe the car in front is braking, but not stopping fully. In that case you would change gear according to the speed. But when you target to stop fully then NO changing gear because just before the car stops fully you would put clutch down to KEEP ENGINE RUNNING! Hope this helps!

You are doing very well Mr instructor, My question is (1) how can I drive and select gear on a multiple-speed breaker road? (2) if I'm driving in a 2nd or 3rd gear and need to divert to another street, what should I do before diverting?

If you come to a complete stop I would shift down from 2nd to 1st, if your just turning without stopping I would keep it in 2nd gear depending on your speed. Hopefully that helps you

Yes, as long as the speed is down for 1st gear. So if you’re on gear 4 driving around 30+ MPH and you slow down for some reason and the speed is now under 10MPH - you change from 4th to 1st gear.
