My daughter is supported care and one time she had a male carer from Zimbabwe. He was as very dark skinned and a big man and the most gentle person. He used to sing to the girls in his own language. We were very sorry when he moved to another state for study.. you are a very beautiful person and I liked listening to you 👍👍👍👍

I have visited Australia a couple of times and it has always stood out to me how safe I felt each time.... like I didn't have to constantly be anxious about a man potentially whistling at me or making some inappropriate remark as I walked past him. That is a really good feeling for a woman, I tell you, when in some communities in other parts of the world you have to deal with that annoyance of unwanted propositions DAILY. I also appreciated that nobody seemed to overly care or scrutinise or silently judge me with regard to how I looked or dressed when I was out and about at the mall or anywhere really. Like you said, people minded their business and I felt like that took a lot of pressure off me to 'appear a certain way.'

Thanks for sharing Chioma. Your videos are always informative and helpful. Sense of belongingness I would say, would usually boil down to personal ethos, individual perceptions and circumstances which varies among people.

Kudos Chioma for addressing the elephant in the room. My grandmother(may she rest in peace) used to say that culture and traditions are like eating very bony fish, you have to learn what is fit to be eaten and what is to be thrown away. New subscriber from the US and I can’t wait to see what’s next in your journey.

Whatever new immigrants do they need to understand to choose the schools, church, work place wisely. It will make your life miserably Make sure to have enough money to survive for the unforseen. That will happen. We are always a guest no matter citizen or even born. Be aware. People don't talk the real truth as the bullies are everywhere and they remove some honest comments that sounds negative. You are a great person to spread the truth.

No they don't, kid, that is why we have national borders. Do you think we should get rid of our borders and just invite everyone here from everywhere? Well if you want that then you should be prepared to live in a third world country, because that is what Australia is rapidly becoming with the govt flooding us with third world migrants. All these excess people need govt welfare and services, and the more that come the poorer our country becomes. It sounds like you have woke parents and/or teachers who have brainwashed you with their open borders propaganda, and who probably tell you that all we have to do is invite the third world here and then we will all sit around holding hands and singing kumbaya. Well I hope your parents have a lot of money to support you for most of your life and then leave you a very large inheritance, because unless the immigration rate is reversed you will never be able to afford to buy a house, or do you envisage a future where you live in a share house with 9 others and pay 60% of your income on rent?, because this is your future under mass immigration unless you are dependent on your parents' money for the rest of your life. There is no affordable housing in Australia, and that is a direct result of the mass immigration policies of the last 20 years or so which have added millions of extra people when there is no housing for them. In fact the immigrants drive up the demand for everything, not just housing, creating the inflation and cost of living crisis that we are in now and making people who were born here poorer by the day. Remember this, kid. Import the third world, become the third world.

Thank you for making this video because sometimes I think i am the only person who has objections about some of our cultural practices and norms. when I try to let people see some of these things that are offensive they become aggressive and instead abuse you verbally. They will say you think you are janded or oyibo abi.

Please remember, you don’t build societies in a day. I am African as well, studied in Germany and currently working in Sydney Australia. You must remember, if you came to Australia some 30years ago, it would for sure not be what you are describing today. People forget that women’s rights and some of these achievements were a result of hard fought battles over the last decades, it is not a given. Same is the story of the aborigines etc, these were not all easy struggles. For sure most of the makeshift African countries are not there yet. From my country, I won’t say that kind of behaviour is prevalent, not sure about your area in Nigeria. Just seems, you were unable to just list the reasons why you belong so you had to give Nigeria a beating first. You will only get a sense of belonging when you get accepted wherever you go. That’s why even in America, the descendants of slaves still have to face this belonging issue as others always try to give them that feeling. The older you get in Australia the more intense the feeling of not belonging will get. Hopefully, the kids can deal with that better because they will be reminded of this too. Sure Australia has Security and provides lots of opportunities to get ahead financially there is no doubt about that. These are the key factors for all the migration.
