Kian, Thank you so much. Today I reached a 33.80 PB with roux, and I could not have done that if it weren't for your content and how inspiring it is.

I think the WRM maglev doesn't have good slice moves, so it may be not that good for Roux

Honestly with the wrm 21 I think that the only one worth buying is the non maglev ones with the core magnet kit. The ones without the kit are too unstable and the maglev makes it feel too tight but still unstable. Also, if you’re reading this Kian, I was wondering what your thoughts are about using roux for oh and CFOP for 2h since I am faster with Roux oh but much faster at CFOP for 2h. I was wondering if there are any potential downfalls to this approach. For reference I avg just over 10 with CFOP 2h, around 14 with roux 2h, around 22 with CFOP oh and around 20 with Roux oh.

I have recently switched from CFOP to Roux for OH. I can see the potential in using Roux for OH because the benefit of the lower move count compared to CFOP only is a benefit when you can't turn as fast as 2H. I still use CFOP for 2H because I find it more fun and I think it has a higher skill ceiling with advanced stuff and ZBLL which is something that really speaks to me because I love learning about things I'm passionate about. So overall, I agree with your choice of method between 2H and OH. As for if there are any potential downfalls, yes, if you don't practice a lot then you might forget some stuff, and it might be harder to keep your skill with two different methods. It's all about your ambitions, if you think you're going to enjoy cubing for a lot longer, then keep this approach, but if you think it's almost over, then think again. You should also ask yourself what you want to have, more speed or more fun. Just comes down to which method you like better

You can get a kit with core magnets to get more stability

It’s not bad but it takes some good amount of time to break in

What if we had core magnets only for 3x3 so that we don't have to deal with the strong magnets for slice moves

I have an rs3m from 2020 and i overshoot a lot and i dont know before this cube i had an yuxin little magic and i liked the feeling more than rs3m i need a cube easy to turn but not to overshoot i think about a gan what do you say?(sorry for my english)
@overcomplexification2 жыл бұрын
My assumption is that you use dry rs3m2020, try to lube it with any heavy silicone lube and it shouldn't overshoot. I use rs3m2020 with 3 weakest setting and i relube it every 400 solves with moyu v3 lube (you can use any silicone lube with a high viscosity). I can only get 2 quarter turns with a one finger flick of the U layer for reference.

@@overcomplexification I used moyu lube v3 wick is s lube to slow down the cube but somehow it still overshoot and even with setting 8 the maximum maybe my cube is just broken idk
@overcomplexification2 жыл бұрын
@@serbanconstantin9314 maybe you prefer very loose tensions then. I turn the screws 25 quarter turns on each side of my cube when I tension it after disassembling. This amount of tension makes the cube fairly stable while keeping its ability to corner cut 45° and reverse corner cut one piece. You may also try to apply lube not only on pieces but on the tracks (primary plastic parts) of the pieces.

@@overcomplexification Thanks for the tip mate i will try the 25 quarter turns tension

OH YEAH I FORGOT ABOUT THAT LINE ENTIRELY Yes, original Weilong line and Aolong line + GTS line were solid cubes, WRM not so much

In my opinion,Qiyi's cube works very well in Roux method. That's based what I observe at every roux method users.
