Voicing a different opinion and criticism is not hate. And the point here is not so much in responsibility, but in safety from social persecution and violence of a person by society, for expressing a person's point of view. Of course there are aggressive people, but there are aggressive people in life too. Thanks to the Internet, we can express our opinions more freely.

I really don't understand people. You speak slowly so that people can understand and study . Obviously, this is not how you would speak with your Russian friends. Honestly, if people are going to ask stupid questions I would just ignore these clowns 😂 I love watching your channel because you make cool videos. I think it's great the way you pronounce words for a non native Russian speaker. I've seen channels where people speak slow Russian, but they kind of just sound strange and they don't break up the words slowly like you do, they just speak so slow it's literally not even helpful. Keep up the great work ! 😊😊

I got similar comments on my last video (from fellow Russians). When writing these comments, people don't take into account: 1. Regional differences 2. Individual manner of speaking 3. The influence of other languages one speaks on the native language pronunciation 4. The educational nature of the videos & the need to speak slowly Anyway, I think you speak clearly & with a neutral accent. Regardless, what's important is that Russian learners are enjoying your content & learning from the videos you create :)

I also get from time to time some "lost souls" (Polish) who don't understand the idea of my channel 😅. Good job! I'm Russian native speaker. and should say that his natural speed speech is amazing, it sounds like native speech 100%, but I agree, people who could criticize could be Russian native speakers. it's funny but sometimes I see how some people (Russian native speakers) criticize some videos about English with native English speakers in Russian language. (my hypothesis, that it's hypercompensation, Russians can not(or do not want to) criticize russian government, so they criticize everything else)

What an interesting video! I'm fascinated by conversational conventions, and filler words are an important and constant part of human language. Of course you have an accent! All speakers of all languages have an "accent". It's called dialect. I imagine that there are differences between Russian spoken in Siberia and Russian spoken in Moscow or Saint Petersburg. My English on the West Coast of the US is different from many other dialects of English in the US, those of the Southern states, those of the Midwest or the Northeast, not to mention dialects of English spoken in Canada, England, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, India...etc. So of course to speakers of those dialects I have an "accent". This format was interesting but for most beginners your regular "level +1" format (that is videos in A1, A2, B1, B2 etc) is the best way to provide comprehensible input. Keep up your amazing teaching; you truly understand how input works when trying to learn another language. Many native speaker instructors of language cannot grasp how much they need to modify their speech to make it comprehensible.
@bennuask2611
@bennuask2611 Жыл бұрын
I loved what you said at the end. Most teachers do not know how to modify their speech. Most people, in general, have no idea how different the spoken language is from the language code. Sergey knows this; I was impressed by that.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your words :) Yeah, I just did it to show to people how I actually can sound sometimes :) But Siberian dialect would be characterised as such: SUPER FAST :D It's too damn cold outside, so you have to speak fast and straight to the point :)

Вообще мне очень нравится как вы говорите по русски. Так как у меня близкие русские знакомые, мне легко понимать быструю русскую речь. Тем не менее, мне приятно слышать чёткую русскую речь. Я уже услышал речь иностранцев, которые стараются говорить с расслабленным произношением в русском и результат просто ужасен. По-этому я за сохранение чёткого произношения при изучении нового языка.

I very much like your vlogs and posts. Thanks a lot for interesting and easy to understand material as "comprehensible input" very useful for beginners. But please let me ask a question related to the title of this video. The guttural "R" has already been mentioned. What I think to hear, imho as a non-native speaker, is that the "ы"-sound is pronounced less the "Russian way" but more towards a (for English and German ears more "normal") "ee"- respectively "i"-sound. And the "dark L" less dark? Is this typical for a "Sibirian" accent, if any such thing exists?
@InRussianFromAfar
@InRussianFromAfar Жыл бұрын
haha, not sure what do you mean by "Dark L" :D
@thomaslangbein297
@thomaslangbein297 Жыл бұрын
@@InRussianFromAfar Why not?? The L‘s in syllable end position can be pronounced in two ways in Russian, can‘t they? In written form like «ль» or followed by a (after other consonants than L) palatalized vowel like я, е, и, ю it is pronounced like the L in that position as in German or French (light L) e.g. Otherwise it is pronounced like in English or Portuguese in the end position (dark L). I watched, having become interested in that topic afterwards, some videos with Sibirian speakers and I think it’s a feature that they pronounce the ы’s and the end L‘s differently. And especially in Irkutsk 😀the R‘s guttural instead of tongue tip rolled.

You do have an ever so slight accent and when you speak slowly it immediately reminds of English-speaking learners of Russian below your level which hints strongly that you are a native speaker. When you speak fast, the accent does not immediately strike me as foreign, and i would have guessed you were a native speaker with a slightly peculiar manner of speaking.

Indeed your fast speech sounds much more natural while in the slow speech appear some freaky intonations. Appearently you are good in colloquial speech but miss traditional stage/announcer pronunciation school.

haha, well noticed! I really do sometimes pronouns my "Rs" in such way, but that's not regional at all, It's just my own speech impediment :D I had it when I was a kid, but then I've learnt to speak a "proper" R. However, when I'm very emotional, sometimes the guttural R slips in ;)
